This is the sad true today: big companies aren't paying journalists anymore (unless we consider the truly biggest USA ones), all the money goes to youtubers

Then, they quote the paid youtubers on the cover of their own games

I didn't mean to come off as rude, in retrospect saying "Get some taste dude" is an aggressive statement. Here's a bunch of freeware games. Some are hit & miss, most are short, but they're all free. That means someone developed the game from the bottom of their heart and released it out of love. That's cool.

What about Sengoku Basara and Dynasty Warriors? I mentioned more than one game for a reason. Regardless, I would argue that Dishonored has a depth to it that makes the power trip he desires a lot more engaging. This webm demonstrates some moves that are much more interesting and fun than Shadow of Mordor's Bamham combat. Dishonored has flaws but if you want a power trip that's easy, it recommend it over them.
>>
>>344748627
So what, we should just ban all discussion of the games you don't like?
I think the new CoD looks fucking great, and I really goddamned hope that the hints of open world we've seen turn out to be true. The only thing holding me back from diving in on a pre-order is that we haven't seen the multiplayer yet, which is pretty much the make-or-breaker when it comes to these games.

You're webm demonstrates nothing.
What you're webm demonstrates, is a choreographed sequence of events that the person recording it repeated a shitzillion times until they got it to come out that way, through trial and error.

THAT is not a power trip. That is autism. Impressive autism, but autism all the same.
A power trip is walking into a room full of bad guys and fucking their shit up so hard on a whim, that they piss their pants and run; and THAT is the one thing that Mordor does right.

I don't see how choreography makes it any less impressive. The webm still demonstrates that the game has depth in its mechanics with room for creative gameplay. The webm contains lots of little tricks that can be realistically stringed together in an improvisational manner during unrehearsed gameplay. You can't argue that Dishonored doesn't have leagues more depth and freedom in this regard.

I don't care. It's a great game, but I'm not going to spend my entire day lining up a bunch of dumbass A.I. that can't see further than 10 feet in just the right way so that I can feel cool about myself when I murder them for a webm I want to shill on /v/, when I can do the same damned thing in Mordor in 2% of the time, and get the exact same feeling.

Take your autism somewhere else. I'm going to enjoy both games and there's nothing you can do to stop that.

The incendiary bolt that kills the man near the water may be impossible if not planned ahead, but things such as blinking and air strafing into a drop assassination, double adrenaline kill with a gunshot inbetween the two swings, possessing someone between you and an arc pylon to kill that person, and sliding to dodge a sword swing, those are totally doable in normal play if you are familiar with them. What makes you think it's so impossible? Dishonored isn't a hard game. It has nothing on things like Devil May Cry or Quake.
>>
>>344749689
Nemesis was pretty cool until you got the mind control power and then it became a game about a ghost getting his own army of orcs to fuck with Sauron. Also it was made trivial by just how easy it was to kill enemies in that game and I had to go out of my way to either job as hard as I could or simply stop performing executions in the hopes that I would get a rival.

In terms of quality discussion that is true, but in terms of people who visit it can't be looked over. Even negative backlash on /v/ can be consider a success for shills as it keeps the games name in peoples minds as /v/ will keep on bashing something long past its relevancy and someone may just buy it to see if it is really bad or not.

Who would waste their money on shills to come here? I would pay shills to shill under YouTube videos or on Facebook but not fucking 4chan.
>>
>>344758821
>but in terms of people who visit it can't be looked over
But you can look over it.

The money you paid to get shills to advertise on here would be infinitely better spent on platfroms that don't even know shills exist (normiebook, reddit, youtube).
Also the shill's posts get deleted after a time which is stupid for a marketing aspect

dont know man, shilling on twitter or kikebook sounds more logical, but at the same time I remember there was no Fallout 4 threads 1 week after launch just like with any Assassins creed or COD.

>The money you paid to get shills to advertise on here would be infinitely better spent on platfroms that don't even know shills exist
That would imply they get paid a considerable sum. Shills usually get paid peanuts since they make a post or two and leave while the rest of the thread does the work for them. It isn't hard to get /v/ to keep a thread bumped if you use the right buzzwords or post the right picture. Even if it gets deleted (after like an hour since mods are slow) it still got exposure.

You have multiple videogames and you can compare them, that means some of them are shit and some of them are good. If you lacking in competence and intelligence, that doesn't mean it's gonna be easier for you, it's just mean you are stupid and don't know shit. Nobody cares about how much fun you have. I can have even more fun with simple wooden stick, but that doesn't mean it's better than your lovely shit game.

>>
>>344757662
I thought the main reason to shill on /v/ is the fact that you can post anonymously compared to other forums that require you to sign up and you can be spotted with "Oh that Benslag267 guy just opened his account and only has one post talking positive about this game" A shill can post every hour and samefag the entire thread knowing that the info is out there and the thread will safely 404 in a hour.

Only because people jump back into the archives and notice the same copy paste post that most shills are spotted.

Not going to lie, the nemesis system was easily one of the best things in recent gaming. I liked the Arkham-style combat of the game, but besides those two points, the story was godawful and the locations were far too boring.

>I liked the Arkham-style combat of the game
I can shit on assassins creed and batman games all day for destroying combat in third person action videogames, but at least in those two you can use different weapons, moves and gadgets. Especially in batman games, where you can make combat looks fucking amazing if you stop pressing Y all the time and start using all that shit. I guess it's just shit game design which doesn't encourage people to do so, but thats another story. The point is shadow of mordor dumb down that shitty combat system the most. Most people don't want to play videogames anymore and do shit, it's just watching movie for them. Of course they gonna like it, it's not trying to insult their intelligence. It's not challenging anymore.
>>

Do you remember the contribution the marketing company Babel Media made to the Driv3r scandal? The only reason we know of Babel Media and their quote "Guerilla marketing experts" are because they repeatedly used accounts that would only post about Driv3r. If they were on a site that had loads of users and didn't need accounts? We'd never know about them.

/v/ actually has a lot of influence on video game opinion, believe it or not. It's not instant, but if you see a popular opinion start to emerge on /v/, a couple of months later you'll see it being reproduced on other websites (namely reddit, which is huge).
Also /v/ is anonymous, and you don't get banned for shilling. It's literally free marketing and advertisement for MILLIONS of people who access /v/ every day. It doesn't even matter if people like it, because people disliking your product causes friction, which in turn makes other people create threads complaining about that game, which in turn gives it more exposition.
Just look at Undertale, Minecraft or Human Revolution.
