That's hard to know, it probably isn't worse than Mankind Divided so I don't see it selling less than that.

Err no, the load times are the exact same as they were over a decade ago no matter how powerful your computer is and there exist no mods that fix the consolized small levels and load times unlike Thief 3.

I especially like how it crashes to desktop every time you enter a new level, what a horrible fucking game.
>>
>>344739903
>I especially like how it crashes to desktop every time you enter a new level

That literally never happened to me. Also the loading times are bearable, HR had pretty long loading times too and the levels were fairly small for the most part.

Right now Deus Ex has sort of fallen out of the public eye. Stealth games aren't as popular anymore and "Play Your Way!" was overused too much to draw anyone in who wants it from just looking at it.

For people who are fan of games from the Looking Glass Studio family of companies aren't going to really bite onto this year's titles either. You can argue that Dishonored 2 has a chance due to its critical factor being level design, but Deus Ex: Mankind Divided already shows that it's not going to succeed as well in their eyes. With a continued focused on Augs with flat Praxis Points and abilities, it will lack the RPG element of the original game that used varying amounts of XP and several skills to determine you abilities on top of purchasable augs. It also still has a lot of elements that work automatically, such as targetting with the tesla fist, takedowns being short cutscenes, and numerous other augs. They've shown in footage that level and art design has been improved upon since Human Revolution, but the chances are high that fans of the old game still won't be 100% pleased with this one.

Ultimately, it falls down to the people who really bought into Human Revolution and feels like they have a chance to improve upon what they did before, and that its method of gameplay is a valid new path for the series to go. It might take some hits due to critical factors like Human Revolution's dynamic cast of voice actors being mostly missing from the sequel, but anyone who liked Human Revolution is most likely going to love Mankind Divided.

Chances are, this will face the risk of a commercial flop if they're unable to pull in enough people outside of Human Revolution's fans, but it should still remain a critical success as an entry in the Deus Ex series, even if it will be the last one for a long time at this rate.
>>
>>344740580
>Stealth games aren't as popular anymore
What gave you that idea?

Depends on how you define success.

If success is defined by sales, then yes it'll be a success since alot of people liked HR.

If success is defined by the quality of the game, then no it'll be the same garbage as HR. I've watched a demo and it literally has the same garbage exp system that encourages non-lethal very heavily and mass hacking for exp whoring. Also Adam Jensen is a poorly written and dull character.

So long as it's good or better than Human Revolution I'd imagine it will at least do alright. People who liked HR seem to be paying attention to it since trailers seem to imply it's just more of the same but better. It's certainly not going to be a massive hit or anything, but it will probably do well enough.

For me all it takes is for it to be better than HR. I enjoyed HR a lot despite its issues. All Mankind Divided has to do is work on those issues and not give us another shit end-game/cut areas and I'll buy it.

I loved HR, so I hope it will do well. My biggest concern about this game though is that they won't fix the glaring problems HR had, like the non-lethal bias, the brute-forcing/savescumming of the hacking system, how OP some of the weapons were (laser sight silenced 10mm 1shotting almost all enemies), useless augs.. there was a lot wrong with the game but a lot that was good as well. If they don't improve any of that and just make the same game again I'll be disapointed.

I'm still not sure, which HR ending is cannon?

Seems blowing up the facility is most likely the canon ending. But even then Jensen lives, of course, and I think I saw an image of an updated Sarif. So I have no idea. It could be where the place blows up before Jensen gets to the bottom to make a choice.
>>
>>344742079

Considering the premise of MD, I would have to guess Darrow's.
>>
>>344742038
no if anything, non-lethal was way easier. in HR. stun gun or takedown could just 1-hit KO people silently whereas if you used a gun, you'd have to deal with a horde of guys shooting at you. And since your guns were shitty except the pistol (best weapon in the game for some reason after you get armor-piercing) and your character was fragile as fuck, you'd get mauled.

Because even though there are slights against a brute force approach, the tilt towards stealth makes both ways of playing valid. If it didn't have those slights, Lethal would be infinitely better, and the only reason to use a stealth approach would be for the difficulty/role-play/mad cheevos.

Explain how this is comparable to any Ubisoft game, also take into consideration they have infinite health and ammo and every aug has been unlocked for the purposes of this demo, and they are not going to show them dying during a preview. They're keeping all the bad things from that game and taking themselves even more seriously. The entire series continue to diverge further from the first game despite we're supposedly getting closer chronologically (and it was a big mistake to make them prequels in the first place)

I don't get what you're implying. Does the trailer show combat? Of course it does. Even games like Dishonored, which have an emphasis on stealth, are presented through combat-heavy trailers. It's always been more marketable.

>>
Here's one problem: Jensen has some of his original powers by the start of the tutorial like the Icarus Landing aug and punching through walls, at least going by what the most recent previews of the Dubai mission indicate. Is this going to negatively affect the difficulty of Mankind Divided? One problem that HR had was that the difficulty quickly dropped to nothing once you got a few key types of augs, upgrades and grenades. Now with stuff like an integrated PEPS gun and autotarget homing stun dart launchers, how much more tools is the player going to have to trivialize every situation?

The gameplay baggage that Jensen brings seems to be a bit too much. This is going to feed into the flawed core gameplay design of the HR-era Deus Ex where the player has too many super effective means of accomplishing every single task in many different (redundant) ways.

Can't wait for steam winter sales 2020 to buy it for 5 bucks.

Don't care, but I won't buy it.
I dropped HR out of boredom.

It has denuvo so it probably will be forgotten like mirrors edge 2 and tomb raider.
>>
>>344748880
Well, originally it was gonna be one game. now they spliced it into 3 games because in their words ''the game was becoming too big and ambitious''
So MD is part one of a trilogy. That is of course if MD doesnt tank.

Will I be able to use SweetFX with Denuvo? I wanna bring back the pissfilter with it because I miss it.

Why can't these niggers just go back to the conspiracy shit?
That's why I loved Deus Ex, and HR's "muh augs" didn't do it for me.
>>
>>344742708
If those things are the best games in the past 2 years, I feel sorry for you.
>>
>>344750319
>Why can't these niggers just go back to the conspiracy shit?
You're missing the forest for the trees.

What's the easiest way for the UN (read: illuminati) to regulate augmentations? To scaremonger against augmented people to the point of segregation.
>>
>>344749723
Me too as well as a few friends. I don't understand why more demos aren't released these days... they literally guarantee you sales. I'm fairly convinced the video game industry has little understanding of business and economics.
>>
>>344750319
Did you even pay attention to the story? It was full of conspiracy shit, mang
>>
>>344750671
>>344751123
I'm talking about things like Templar gold, black helicopters and Area 51.
The closest thing HR had was the FEMA camp, which was really good. I'd like to see more of that.
>>
>>344751590
Fair enough. But we won't see areas like that until we play the actual game.

Also, you missed the Illuminati Research Facility in Singapore.
>>
It's not going to sell enough copies to offset the cost of Final Fantasy 15 and the Final Fantasy 7 remake, so yes, it will be considered a flop.

>>344750776
>they literally guarantee you sales
Tell that to Battleborn. A demo was released a couple of weeks before it came out, allowing people to see how shitty it was before having to pay for it. Now the only way Amazon can offload the codes they got for it is by bundling it with XCOM 2 and selling both for 30 bucks.

Started playing HR. Why should I go pure pacifist?

Slaughtering common street thugs may seem morally questionable, but what about people like those mercs that massacred your friends and colleagues? Do they deserve the same quarter?

It'll be a hit
>>
>>344736560

>>
>>344736448
The Prague level looked pretty cool tbqh famalam.

Felt closer to the original than the IT'S FUTURISTIC CUZ IT'S YELLOW design of Human Revolution.
>>
>>344741465
Honestly it came to a point where someone would try to make an argument against the segregation BLM is promoting, and anti-SJWs would jump and shit on that thinking that it's a propaganda piece promoting the idea. It's sad for content creators who want to point out the nonsense and in the end get bashed by the same people they try to give a voice to. Because it doesn't seem obvious so it's mistaken with the exact opposite thing.

So in the end, the extremists of any side will take offense, thinking that the parallels they're drawing are completely accurate. One side will say "this is a close representation of X doing things to Y" and the other side will say "this is a close representation of Y doing things to X" and it might be neither of them, just confused and angry people.

Had this come out 5 years ago or earlier, it'd be a completely different subject.

In any case, I don't think it will flop at all. It showed quite a bit of gameplay that attracts HR players, which were quite a lot, and the part of the DX fanbase that disliked HR is still a fair minority. Denuvo will cause a few issues I would assume but when there's no alternative, there's no alternative. Most people still don't know what the fuck that is anyways.

>>
>>344754751
I think he mistakenly said MD when he meant HR.

It definitely looks already better than HR. I find it funny that some people ask "will this be the invisible war to deus ex?"
>>
>>344751850
Which kinda makes an argument for people who don't want to preorder a game or buy it before trying it, you could be more skeptical after coming to the conclusion that the reason why there isn't a demo is because the quality of the game is poor and they don't want to show that to avoid selling less copies.
>>
i am literally about to replay hr so i can get the 7 achievements i missed out on and then finish iw
>>
>>344748884

The problem is that the new Deus Ex takes itself WAAAAAAY too seriously and doesn't have any fun with it like the original game did.

Aside from the part where you got blurry vision depending on whether you took the pill or not, it was completely boring and unimaginative.
>>
>>344736448
I thoroughly enjoyed HR and this game only seems to improve upon the previous game, so I have high hopes.

If Dishonored 2 doesn't snag GOTY this game will.

>CD Keys
>devs
You know half of the keys out there is the result of a scam right

The developers often don't get shit at all, you're just stealing the game in a way Steam recognizes it as legit

They can't ban all the keys because there could be some legit one, and revoking a legit key would be a huge shitstorm
