Hammer is a rather simplistic weapon so I'm not sure what sort of bad habits you could be learning in adept that can transfer to guild. Really the most you have to be sure of is to not send teammates flying with constant superpounds and level 2 charges.

Not that guy but the free Evade+3 will definitely instill some bad habits. Guild without evasion skills will get their asses handed to them if they play like they have an invincibility button.

That's a fair point. Doesn't really affect me though since I've long since accustomed myself to the very slight i-frames the default roll dodge has. I'm still amazed at the shit I've gotten away with simply because of abusing what I saw is 2-3 frames of invincibility. I don't know the actual iframes for anything in the game.

To me, aerial actually seems super dangerous and not even worth the risk with the hugely increased mounting tolerances. Aerial GS was kind of amusing for a few demo hunts but I won't be using the style at all in the main game.

Some Swaxe, I still love that nigga even if its doomed to be the new meme weapon.
Some kinda SnS, probably Striker. Blade coatings sound cool as fuck.
Some charge blade, probably guild. It has enough weird gimmick shit I can play with without needing crazy moves, and I always sucked too bad to be really good at guard points, so the nerf doesn't affect me personally too badly.

Forgot to remove those. So yeah I'll probably put a restriction on pouch items and add gunner ammo and bow coatings to the box. Also tweak the A.I since they felt kinda stupid to me and didn't hit as hard as their regular versions.

4U is a main installment of the series and generations is something like an anniversary spinoff for 10 years of monhun featuring all the villages and characters from each one of the old games.
They're both good games but 4U is the "complete" experience that you can expect from any MH game

If you care about online play at all, get Generations. It'll be by far the most active and MH is improved with the option of multiplayer.
4U is super easy to get into and has a very lengthy and difficult endgame, though the quality of the very end of that endgame is questionable. It has a G-Rank while Generations doesn't, though Generations apparently has a difficulty equivalent in the form of Deviant monsters.
Generations is more fantastical and flashy in its weapon movesets. 4U is more standard in that regard.

I haven't played the game yet so I can't judge most of these, but I'm really sad to see full sets in the spotlight. Being able to mix and match and create a long list of ridiculous customized armor skills brought a lot of experimentation, longevity, and fun to my 4U file.

nerfs to adept that don't need to be discussed aside if styles stay I would want one big thing. An item akin to Wystones or a command that lets you switch styles mid-fight. When you change armor your HA won't reset but instead be crossed off until in guild/Striker.

I want MH5 to expand more on hunter-monster relationship and how they affect eachother so, naturally, I want them to use the Dog + Rapier concept art and make it into a weapon.
One change though, replace the Rapier with a handgun. The weapon would essentially be the same as marking spots with kinsect but go much more into it with what commands and combos you can do since the face buttons could send commands to the dog instead of just "attack" and "recall"
also, it is a perfect idea for a new gunning weapon that isn't just another bowgun

Hunter arts are anime as fuck but feel pretty good to pull off, if they tweak them they can stay and are relatively inoffensive barring a few(demon sword)
I like full sets but I'd enjoy if they made at least 3-4 sets that were competitive instead of the one we have now.

Styles and arts will be fine with a little more refinement, and you could put a swift end to the clownsuit/full set debate entirely by implementing fucking transmog already.

Heavy: Huge damage.
Light: Mobility.
The drawback in HBG used to be that you can only walk with it drawn. Being a gunner weapon and thus having shit for defense, this made it a very high risk, high reward weapon. Many times in my 4U 140 questing was some poor HBG fucker unable to get out of the way and one-shot.
With Gen you can just grab a free +3 Evade in Adept Style and basically negate that drawback entirely. I'm not sure why you would pick LBG now.

LBG has more mobility, some guns will force 'rapid fire' on given shot types. This fires a burst of 3-6 consecutive rounds that are weaker but if all hit, will do more damage and only consumes one shot. You can't cancel a burst, it's committed. Often used to take advantage of elemental weaknesses.
HBG has more firepower, some shot types are compatible with the weapon's crouching fire feature. In this state you load up ~20 rounds and can hold the button to continuously fire. Often used with either Normal or Pierce depending on the monster.
MH4U has limiter removal which is absent on Gen.
