What kind of sadist is this game made for? Even if these ludicrous claims are true, why would anyone want to play a game that supposedly they can even never complete.

The worlds are empty, due to being procedural, of course this can accredited to the fact, that the game is being developed for Playstation 4, Sony's latest shit, of course everybody knows it's a scam, there's no doubt about it, every one of those shallow infinite universe games is the same, you play it a bit, you get bored, then frustrated, cause it has no end, no begininning and nothing to do, there's no gameplay in it, in the case of No Man's Sky, every planet is a recolor of every other planet, there's no goal to exploration too.

Well yeah, I know it WILL be entertaining for a short amount of time, but then suddenly you'll find you're only interested in it a fraction of how much you previously were, then it will quickly become boring.

That's for a majority of the people buying it.

The super miniscule minority that's autistic will probably put a thousand hours into it and it's their game of the year.

By the way has anyone played Space Rangers 2?

It's a russian made space RPG. It's the closest thing in gaming to a true space opera. You fly around from system to system doing quests and trading. There's space combat and you can lad on planets and do MUD style quests and also land based missions that are basically RTS.

If No Man's Sky actually incorporated all the questing / trading / space combat aspects it would undoubtedly be GOAT for me.

Where? On /v/ it's just bait threads like this one, and typically forums/subreddits dedicaced to a certain game are rampant with hype before release, so it's nothing unusual.

I've read a couple articles from people who played it and it basically amounted to "It was fun when I played it, but who knows if it'll manage to keep that fun on the long run", which look like a reasonable opinion you can make.

Easy. I don't like how they tote the idea of endless worlds to explore when in reality it will be like Minecraft's terrain generation. Im sure it would take ages to technically explore all of a Minecraft map before it stopped generating terrain, but that doesn't necessarily mean much to people when the difference is negligible. The planets in that game are like the biomes in Minecraft. You're going to see the same ones over and over with minor deviations such as tree placement, density, or water level maybe at best.

I'm very very worried about not being able to build anything, I love the idea of basically having minecraft world seeds all connected into a single universe, the concept is Beautiful and is basically a reality simulator. I'm afraid I'll be able to walk around and blow up rocks but do nothing else, that will get boring after 6 hours. Just let me customize my ship or build a space station or fucking anything, I can't get immersed in a world where I'm a homeless guy running around shooting everything with no other purpose anymore. >>
>>344676817
how is it reliably interesting? what's interesting about essentially the same landscape except mixed up a bit and a different shade of color? i mean technically it's impressive but when you look at it as a game its fucking laaaaame. i've played procedural games but the whole "it's different every time!" is such horse shit. i'd rather replay games with interesting level design/enemy placement/variety than a math equations attempt at a game.

Except that in NMS's case they've still got artists working on it, so I doubt they're paid to do nothing all day.

>A blue giraffe.

And explore diverse, beautiful staggering worlds like

>A planet where the grass is red and the trees are blue
>A larger planet where the grass is yellow and there are purple cactuses
>A purple planet with pink grass and green trees

What can you do on them? That doesn't matter! What matters is that you can look at stuff!
