Pokémon GO is now a mark in history for Nintendo. The fantastic results of the game will definitely have a HUGE impact in the future of the company.
As a mobile developer I can tell you this: for a known brand, a mobile game is a ridiculously cheaper to develop, presenting very little risk comboed with high profit possibility.
The money they make out of Pokémon GO will affect how they think going forward, because it will probably make more money than any of their Wii U or 3DS software.
Will this be good or bad for Nintendo or the industry as a whole?

Nintendo is too smart for this. Remember when the Wii came out? They still churned out expensive first-party titles for the DS like two Zeldas, Mario Party, and whatnot.
In fact, it's the other way around. Nintendo always stops producing for the system that's doing well. Their best days were during the SNES because Sega was a hard competitor. When the N64 succeeded in America they stopped making games. When the GBA succeeded, they stopped. When the Wii was all the rage and flying off shelved? They focused on the DS so it could kill the PSP.
They know the Apple market is not one they can win. There's more money for them on their platforms.
