I don't like him either, but in my case is that he doesn't act until it is too late over a promise he breaks anyway. I never found Sans that hard. His patterns are easy and beat him in 10 tries. I did another genocide days later to fight him again and i beat him first try.

I ended up really disliking this game quite a bit. And not because of any external influences, I was going to back it back in 2013. It's not because of any "social shit", as many things in this game are open to personal interpretation.
I just hated that in the beginning it looked real promising. A pretty neat concept (attempted before) with outright eerie and disturbing aspects. With the whole multiple playthrough stuff, I expected most of the game to be like in that sweet demo.
But it wasn't. It was not so big in choices. You had a lot of fairly uninteresting, "funny" characters, almost brought from some average anime, except they all took form of monsters and animals. It made the game more logical and less appealing. It didn't have that feel of the demo at all. Upon reaching Undyne on a mostly pacifist run, I thought it would pick up, then it turned into another joke. I had to wait pretty much until I reached the hidden lab to see anything appealing.
After quite a few runs it was clear to me that the game wasn't exactly that good with choices either. In the end it was all part of a little bit more of character development added, with everything "spooky" on a genocide run but nothing other than a world of innocent animals trying their darndest to scare you away.
Gaster could have been an actual decent thing but there weren't any updates on it. It was just there for some people to have a bit of fun the first month and have nothing else to do.
And the combat? Probably one of the saddest parts. It could have potential until you realize how easy and non-strategic it is. You have genocide being pretty much a boring grinder with bullshit bosses.
Let's just not talk about the fanbase.
The only real decent thing about the game is the music. It's something I won't stop liking.
