It's not that bad early on but it starts degrading pretty fast about 7-10 episodes in. Only major beefs I had with part 3 were the comic relief bits that made Family Guy look classy, along with the Street Fighter 4-esque 3D animation. Fortunately both of those got kept pretty minimal except for maybe the Mariah episode, but aside from that I liked it. I'm kind of losing faith in part 4 just because of how janky the animation and writing is getting. I don't even know what to think about Tony or whatever that chef's name is.

I'll admit I started with part 3 because of nostalgia for the Capcom game, but from what I've seen from short clips of 2 it looks a lot better animation-wise. I really loved the idea of people having Stands that represented their personalities and how they treat other people, especially how villains treated their victims.
Then part 4 comes and Stands are basically just Pokemon, complete with evolutions and shit, and then it gets about as cliche anime as I can imagine. Jotaro barely plays a part and for some reason has gotten dumber, Joseph's completely senile to the point where his whole character is comic relief, I've kind of lost any reason to watch more. If anything I'll go back and watch parts 1 and 2.

I mean, aside from Young Joseph, you have to keep in mind that part 3 is literally everything I knew about coming into this, because I used to hate anime. Mostly because of dumb shit like Sailor Moon or Slayers + shitty 4Kids dubs, but then I saw some cool stuff and just accepted it. It's kinda like if the only 3D animation you ever saw in your life was Video Brinquedo and Dreamworks' shitty attempts to cash in on Pixar's successes, decided 3D was shit, then somebody showed you Pixar for the first time.
That's beside the point though, before this anime came out Jotaro and the rest were just video game characters to me. The only anime version that existed at the time was horrible and I had no idea how to get my hands on the manga, so I had no idea what the characters were like. Now that I've seen the show, I fucking love Avdol. Honorable mention to Joseph.
