Is this a good thing to use while outside or on a long road trip? Or to use out in public?

If you have tiny jap hands, yeah.

Download an gba emulator on ur phone, that way ppl will think ur just talking to other humans instead of being autistic

I have a micro with ~200 games on an EZIV that I take with me everywhere. I've had people ask me if it's an mp3 player before, it's pretty discrete. If you're planning on playing games that are not turn based, its way better than a phone emulator.

This gave me finger cancer.

Why the fuck is /v/ the only place that's self-conscious about whether or not others see you using a handheld

Somebody on /v/ actually PLAYING games? What sorcery is this? ;^)

I carry mine with me every once in a while because it's extremely small. It's just really fucking nifty. Love the design on it
>>
I guess but a DS lite would do the same shit and more.
>>
>>344621009

I can't imagine playing anything on something so small. I don't even like playing on my 3DS XL very much.

Green and famicom are two micros I love at that price point. The classic black and silver ones go for less if those two don't do it for you.

No one's going to care about you playing Pokemon in public. Only other autistic nerds that are weird enough to know what a GB Micro is will care even the slightest bit one way or the other. Normalfags will just think it's a phone anyway.

its a nice little console to have if you have the games for it OP

Sorry to hear that. I had an modded gbc with Frontlight support but you need to apply LOCA so that you can actuyally see anything. After applying and reassembling my screen has some very awful looking areas at the corner.
Thats the reason why i would probably just buy a premedded one.
>>
>>344624453
EZIV is honestly great dude. It's not exactly drag and drop (you need to patch most roms to save right), but it has cool theme options and pretty much 100% compatibility.
Everdrive has some advantages over EZIV (Lower power consumption, real time clock, ability to play 32 MB roms without flashing to NOR) but it also has some disadvantages (2X the price, no theme options, way bigger than a regular gba cart)

Both are solid options, but neither is definitively better by any stretch.
>>
>>344624453
I have one and it came with a case for the DS Lite, not sure if that means it would stick out or not on the Micro.

Thank god for the advent of 3D printers and other home-sized hardware production alternatives. It won't be long before you can assemble your very own handheld console, built to your own specifications, from the comfort of your home.

The Raspberry Pi Zero may just be the ideal hardware platform, when it finally goes into fucking production again, it just takes a battery, a screen, a set of buttons and a case, and you can emulate anything up to PSX and PSP.
>>
It's the best game boy to use in public. Most people don't know what it is and think they're pretty cool when you tell them.

Regular gba carts fit flush in the micro, and anything that fits flush into the DS lite's slot 2 won;t fit into the micro at all. You sure that that was an EZIV and not an EZ3in1?
>>
>>344623890
Best 84.20 USD I've ever spent. I mean that sincerely.
Short of purchases like 'that cast iron can I cook everything in' I got more mileage out of this thing than I ever expected.
>smaller than psp
>lighter than psp
>better at emulation than psp
Literally thousands of hours on the thing. Too bad it's successors are all fucking trash, and too bad I can't repair my shoulder button that busted 4 years in.

You may be right. What you posted wouldn't fit in a micro, but it might have come with another case that was slightly larger than a normal gba case. I've got one of these, and it fits perfect.
>>
>>344624453
Reviews aren't in on the GBA Everdrive, and knowing Krikzz, there will be a better version out in like a year, but EZ Flash IV has some problems.

All games require save patching, and that patching is done by garbage software from EZ Flash. Once the battery dies (mine is 7 years old and still going, but I've heard from people who use theirs more that they die in 5 years) you can only save by soft-resetting. Battery is soldered on so it's not easy to replace. Oh and 256mb games have to be loaded to the EZ Flash IV's onboard memory, which takes an insanely long time, and you can only have one game in that memory at once.

Everdrive fixes these problems and adds Real Time Clock support so you can play Pokemon games with all features intact. But it costs a little over twice as much. If you have the money to spare get the ED. If you're on a tight budget get the EZ Flash IV.

It's very good for public play. Few will even realize you're playing videogames.

The screen is the best handheld screen of all time as well.

Not sure. I think so. It has upgradeable firmware so if it's not currently a feature, I can see it being added.

>buying a chinkshit emulator from 2009
The end of the line is the 2011 Dingoo A380 (not the e version, which can't run linux cfw).
For the most part chinkshit has moved on to android based junk.

The a320 was really a perfect storm of wide hardware availability, software compatibility, and community interest. Suddenly linux was ported to it and suddenly a whole bunch of people were releasing emulators that were more and more optimized by the week. These days the community is essentially dead (outside of the dead on arrival GCW zero, an attempt at creating successor hardware, which can't even deliver on basic functionality like otg controller support, three years later).

It was really neat to be a part of, but I really don't think you should hop on a dead horse.

I just bought this SP AGS-101 in a terrible condition, though, the screen is perfectly fine, im going to paint it and already ordered a Supercard.

Anyone have good models to paint my SP? I was thinking on navy blue or black because scratches are less visible.

>>
>>344624383
I like this. Would also be nice to have phone functions too and the screen is a touchscreen.

No game cartridges, so they can avoid needing to be censored by ESRB or CERO. Everything's digital right from Japan's servers.

All powerful battery with 72 hr battery life per charge, bluetooth and WiFi functions.

But we'll lose DS-3DS backwards compatibility. Which is sad.
>>
>>344631382
It actually works??
>>
>>344633895
Yeah, tho she's emulation on the DS is wank. Plus that picture has a custom shell.

Just easier to buy a gba. Plus the buttons on the DS are awkward to play GBA games on.
