Are we witnessing the death of nintendo as a video game company? Now that they've discovered how much money can be made from pay to win mobile """""""games""""""" with basically zero effort, what incentive will they have to continue making real games anymore?
I predit miyamoto quits by year end, zelda botw is their last ever actual game release, and they get bought by a chinese construction company a few years later.
The original wii sold so many units they have enough to make 5 more consoles before actually dying.
Their next gimmick will be VR related and mobile compatibility.

Perhaps the fact that they sell?

Their profits from pokemon go and whatever other uninspired p2w trash they come up with will overshadow anything else they've done by like 100 times. Why would they invest 5 years and millions of dollars into creating the next great game when they can hire some indians to slap together another telephone app in a week and make billions from it?
People spend money on Pokemon go?

People don't get it, they think the game is made for people to go out, exercise and socialize and explore. But in reality it's the opposite, rich lazy people can just bunch a bajillion incense and pokeballs, sit their ass at home and farm pokemons without doing anything physical.
That's the trick, you can git good if you spend countless of hours and calories going all over the city hunting for shti, or you can drop some real shekels and get all that easily via microtransactions, you still have to play, but you don't have to walk and be at risk of being mugged and stupid stuff like that.
