Mercy is too pure to be in that game.
Mercy is a direct counter to playing the game well. You have to coordinate with your team to not wipe the enemy "too hard" or they'll all be up instantly and you'll be out of ultimates. There shouldn't be a hero who easily has the best ult in the game that ALSO charges it up insanely fast and needs coordination from a group of randoms to counter.
Not enough maps, competitive is kinda bad, and the low-tier heroes need buffs (D.Va, Zenyatta) or reworks (Mei, Bastion).
Not enough variety, when you need a character like Mercy in every game, it becomes stale. Needs more characters that can bring it a bit of diversity.

Blizzard's only idea of balance is tweaking damage values, which is retarded. Widow's was fine, but McCree and Torbjorn (console) nerfs completely missed the point. It gives me zero faith that the game will actually be balanced properly going forward.

The character designs clash super hard. In what kind of world do cowboys, samurai, sentient apes, and robots all exist at the same time? There's no unifying design concept, just "let's take all of the cool tropes we can think of and make them characters in the same game!"
