The likelihood actually facing any sort of meaningful repercussions for vidya piracy is basically nil, whereas there is more inherent risk with something like dining and dashing or shoplifting, since the culprits actually get caught and punished occasionally.

Most sniper rifles are often overpowered from a design standpoint, with a pinpoint accuracy, 1 shot kill from almost any range. A decent amount of these are balanced by having incredibly slow firing times, short magazines or horrendous recoil. In THEORY that balances it. In reality once you can control recoil the other disadvantages are meaningless, because in a lot of fps's its the kills that mainly matter. Why bother having a high magazine low damage weapon when the damage, fire rate and accuracy is all that matters.
It is a highly rewarding, but not difficult weapon, when comparing to other weapons.
SO many times in an fps the best assault rifle or sniper just obsoletes 90% of the weapons listed in game.

In any case, Melee does have a lot of things that a traditional, SFII-based, fighting game has, like Hitstun and Blockstun, combos, a zoomed out 3rd person perspective that usually doesn't favor one player over another, a hitbox facsimile in hitbubbles, a multitude of normal attacks of varying strength, special attacks, some of which are projectiles, ect.
Smash does deviate from the usual formula in a lot ways, notably its platformer movement and stages, the different way it handles inputs in general, and the sumo kinda thing it has going on, but it is similar enough to what most would call a fighting game that it isn't at all a stretch to call the game a fighting game, especially with how demonstrably vague the term itself is.

Well, Cloud is probably a great example in SSB4.
Compare him to Bayonetta. Bayonetta requires reads for her combos and kills and is one of the more advanced characters in game. In addition, she was horribly nerfed, despite lacking significant results (she didn't even win her final tournament in 1.1.5... ESAM won it with Pikachu).
Cloud, on the other hand, is incredibly easy to move and has one of the safest killing moves in the game. On top of this, he has incredibly powerful Smash attacks and THREE OTHER OPTIONS OUT OF HIS KO MECHANIC. His downside is supposed to be that his recovery is bad, but if he has limit it doesn't even matter, and he always will.
So why pick Bayonetta if Cloud is easier and better? Because some people like Bayonetta.

The iOS port cuts the combat off at the knees to fit it all one one screen. No partners, no multiscreen noise, no multitasking rhythm combat. Ease of use is another thing. Don't have to worry if your console is good enough to play the game. Insert disc, it will work. Usually less technical problems too. Plus you don't have to worry about all those installed games slowing down your machine.

Generally don't have to. I run into this problem almost exclusively when trying to play an old game on something other than GOG. Newer titles, at least in my experience, either work or if they don't it's the shit ports fault nothing you can do. Neither of which is forgivable, but 5-10 minutes to get an old game working right that's not a problem for me.

It just didn't have the same atmosphere as the first two games did. It was a very grimey noir cop flick that nailed it's presentation. If Max Payne 3 had more New York flash back levels I would have rated it higher maybe, but it still just didnt have the humor, atmosphere and fun bits and small details that made the first two games great.
