Red Dead was about the death of the Wild West so there's not much point in making a sequel set afterwards.
Red Dead II should be a prequel about John's life when he was running in Dutch's gang including how and why he joined them and what to led to the eventual fall-out.

Greatest game ever. Amazing story. Huge, detailed world. Precise, innovative mechanics ( that weapon wheel is a game changer). And an incredible online mode that was unfortunately plauged by boosters, spawn trappers, and profile decimating bugs. When i was in it i was ranked top 1400 in gang matches. Had about ten golden guns, and had just unlocked the buffalo. Then one day as i turned my game on and loaded it up, i was presented with a lvl 1 character and no unlocks. Completely killed my motovation to keep playing. RIP J. Marston
