That's what you're worth as "founder" to the developers.

So I started this up in free play and god damn what the fuck. if you have a team of hunters that know what they are doing then you have no hope as goliath as far as I see. if you attack the medic they get shields from support, if you attack the support the medic just constantly heals them with pin point accuracy on slows from your friendly tracker. I've won games by being sneaky and pouncing but you can't effectively pounce on teams that actually stick together. Is there something I'm missing or do iI just need more perks or some horse shit

Game is alright but gets boring pretty quickly. It's basically the same thing for hunters and monsters. You run in circles around the map for a bit before finding each other, fight for a couple of minutes and then repeat until one side is dead.

It's not even the skins and the cosmetics that I lost that really get me, it's how the game has now changed.
When you got this game in 2015 you would enter a match of hide-and-seek, follow the birds and time your traps. Domes required planning and cutting the monster off to use and the reward was often a two-minute smack-down to get some good damage in. Occasionally you would drop a dome and not even know if you got it. You'd take a second and confirm with your team if it's in or not and be forced to make a judgement call if no one can tell you where it is.
When you played as monster you could fake-out players with false tracks, noises where you were but not where you were going and just by blending into a bush while they flew right over you. The game would either conclude before stage 3 or you get a tense minute of everyone reconing at the Relay waiting for the huge as monster to show up (timer didn't used to start until the monster reached stage 3). Then
it's the epic final showdown.
Now you get to jump into a round of Overwatch with 3 other Heros and never have to guess where the fucker is hiding. Guess what, we can just tell you where he is every 30 seconds. hope you like playing catch-up.
Oh, and if you hated having to coordinate with your team to set up traps and domes, don't worry. Anyone can dome! Instantly! We'll even tell you if you domed the monster or not (which it's pretty much impossible not to)!
Did you hate how long the match was when the monster was hiding and feeding and you were planning and seeking? So did TurtleRock! Now the timer starts at the beginning of the round to ensure there is no such thing as an epic fight that might bore you with it's """"""pacing"""""".

I just picked it up and I sneak a fair amount to win games but as goliath I find myself getting pinned down too easily while they get perfect slows and tethers on me. I guess since it's the first monster (right?) it puts you at the disadvantage that even the other new players can figure out how to fight it but it's frustrating when you charge a medic away from their team, blast them with a rock and set them on fire and they still get saved by some fucker on support with shields.

Yeah, from a making-money perspective. The game was dead before the last monster was released and there was no way to fix that unless they went F2P.
If they went F2P they have to change the game to be less about getting your buddies together and killing a monster and more about going on alone and not needing much coordination to win a match or two.
Considering how much this game has already fucked so many over trying to make money when it launched I think a "fuck you" is well deserved for killing the game I originally bought

I'm sorry but that's wrong. For instance you don't want to fight Wraith in an area seperated by a lot of mountains that it can wrap around and wait for its cooldowns, you don't want to fight Behemoth in a chokepoke or all of his abilities will descimate the enemy team but by contrast anywhere with numerous hills allows the enemy team to keep their distance since rolling and his tongue grap are his only ways to close distance.
There are absolutely good and bad spots depending upon your composition and the enemy monster.
I find pretty boring how every game plays out the same way. I thought there would be some kind of investigation but the whole hunt is about following tracks and cutting off the monster's route to dome it. That, and classes aren't very engaging to play.
It seems that only monsters require some sort of strategy.

The general rule is mountains and valleys for brutes (Goliath and Behemoth) and fields for the flying (Kraken, Wraith and Gorgon). The Gorgon is tricky though because it can benefit from both types of terrain thanks to it's spawn ability.

It died because people don't trust 2K right now, in the same way people didn't trust Capcom in 2008. More people played at its 48 hour peak now than played when the game was in its original free beta, its launch, or its free weekend. Go look at Payday 2's numbers for comparison and see the huge influx that game received in its free weekends.
2K have a DLC image problem they're going to have to fix unless they want every multiplayer game of theirs to fail like Evolve and Battleborn did.

But in reality the issue is that I, me, perhaps ONLY me, no longer likes the game.
I'm not really entitled to complain because I did get at least 150 hours of decent to excellent multiplayer fun for $60 but it still irks me.
This is coming from the same guy who used to play ChromeHounds and didn't get nearly as salty when that disappeared. I guess it's the jealousy of others having fun with something I no longer do mixed with the knowledge that they didn't even have to pay to get that fun.

Im sorry but as another "founder" and former competitive player on Evolve, I got a bone to pick with your post.
My problem with the 2015 version of the game was that it was such an inconsistent experience. Hunting the monster down was interesting but you are overplaying the strategy/mind games involved greatly. This was not the best part of the game, in fact it was often the worst. Once monster players learned how to play correctly, the game basically died. Chasing them down became nearly impossible and downright frustrating, considering all the monster had to do was keep an eye out for 1 hunter and use all their mobility whenever the trapper was in range. Doming a wraith or kraken came down to luck, considering both could essentially be in the middle of a dome when it was thrown, and still make it outside of the dome before it came down. So the only way you were getting a successful dome is when the monster fucked up bad. And lets say you dome the monster. Now the 'hunt' really begins. Because kraken and wraith could easily elude hunters even inside of the dome. They would run around the dome and avoid damage until it came down, and then happily leave with all their health intact. It got so bad that even 'pro' matches casted on twitch would involve hunter teams giving up on the hunt entirely just to wait at the relay for the monster to attack at stage 3. Chasing down the monster was a waste of time, and risked giving your teammates strikes in the process.
The best part of the game was the fights. When you had a monster who was willing to fight you before stage 3, the games were much more interesting. Hunters needed to manage boost, use their abilities correctly, and support their allies in order to outplay the monster. This is what made me keep playing the game, for the one game out of 10 where you would actually get to fight the monster. Stage 2 is essentially forcing the monster to take risks and fight prior to stage 3.

Yeah, looking back I remember alot of garbage matches. The matches I fond over are the great ones though, so I guess my memory is a bit rose-tinted.
They did introduce Arena Mode though, but the hide-and-seek with a monster as decent as your team was my favorite part. The balancing was always a huge issue though.

What, no. There were no keys in paid. You did have to grind for perks though and complete challenges to unlock more perks to grind for.
So the new were at a mechanical disadvantage even back in the paid version but it was a rather minor disadvantage usually.
I got a 3 win-streak last night and for maybe 2k keys. If you keep losing try Support. A good Support can carry their team with enough coordination and planning.

it depends how you want to play. If you get caught you are probably in trouble level 1. Whereas someone with a 3-1 build can still punish a careless hunter if given the chance. But if you are just looking to run and feed sure you can get away with that build.

It seems like if they pick wraith or anything fast and just keep avoiding combat they will almost ALWAYS hit Stage 2-3 before you can really harm them. By that time they can tear your shit apart if everyone isn't doing their jobs perfectly. If they get domed good monsters will just waste time and run away again.
The only way to actually catch them it seems is to split up but then they molest the shit out of the team.
Seems like a good monster is either going to wipe the hunters or run for so long they die of boredom. And Stage 3.

I used to do this but I don't even bother anymore, there's no point since they can use the scanner the second they get out of the ship
In the beta I'd make people follow my false tracks to the other side of the map and go eat animals for a cool 5 minutes easily
There's also no reason to attack the trapper anymore, before I had to choose between trying to get the dome down or crippling the healer/support but now I always go for the healer/support no matter what
