Just did it yesterday. Fucking SD card decided to become raw/corrupted in the middle of the process and I ended up losing everything inside it. Yes I made sure to remove the sd properly every time, and it STILL got fucked up.

I did try to hack my N3DS but I permanently bricked it. The amount of people succeedingly hacking their device is lower than those bricking it. I own a solder and know how to use it. I hardmodded my N3DS, but the necessary USB devices some sites mentioned didn't work at all. I was never able to flash the software. You have a much higher chance to just lose your 3DS than hack it correctly.

Nintendo will stop at nothing to stop people from being able to launch homebrew on their system, which includes mercilessly shutting down non first-party games, suspending services, and even gimping their own hardware.
I don't want to be an accessory to all that bullshit, but this generation of nintendo consoles has made me absolutely despise nintendo, between all their babying, forced features, censoring, region locking, and archaic online platform (nintendo network is a fucking joke even compared to XBL).

I'm on 10.7, the only way to hack it is through some obscure games that are £50+ now (because people know they can be used for hacking), or a few other games that require someone else to have a hacked 3DS. So, until they can get around this obstacle, I'm stuck.
