There is a wad extractor that show all the sprites from the game. There is a Steam guide that shows how to make your own skins in minutes. It really helped, try it out.

And yeah, there is a Steam workshop too. Surprisingly, even common maps made by literal whos are very good, I think it's because the editor is very easy to use.
