Im so excited /v/ i watched the commercials and i have to agree fuck spending 60 bucks on a game!
What are the best ouya games?
how are you enjoying yours?
>>344496629
do they even make ouyas anymore? i'm pretty sure they were discontinued in 2012
Sorry about your dead thread
This is clearly bait but I was reminded of the only time I played an OUYA at some college club event. I didn't know anyone but one guy had an OUYA on a big projector with Super Crate Box and no one could get past the first level so I got hold of the controller and beat all of the levels. I didn't even say a single word and left right after that.

Remember when people thought skyrim would come to the ouya
>>344496629
>I saved up my lunch money and bought an OUYA
Post Ouya with today's timestamp or you're a fucking liar.
To this day I still don't know who backed the Ouya. Literally anyone that plays games and had enough know-how to find the kickstarter should have been smart enough to know system was a failure by design.
Remember that one sucker on /v/ who backed the Ouya and actually tried to shitpost anyone who got a pstv?
>>344499542
>remember that one anonymous petson on an anonymous forum?
no. thats the point
>>344496629
Myboyfriend backed this despite me telling him not to. The edition where you got your name/whatever etched into the controllers and everything. Guess who finally got to throw that damn paper weight out 6 months ago?
I'm still a little angry that they chose to ignore me and threw money away into it.
It is the year 2016.
Still no ouya minecraft.
Notch's name is still on the developer consoles.
>>344498607
GOAT
>>344496721
They still have some, evidently, available through their warehouse. I am a proud owner of this little thing- worked well for what I bought it for.
Best thing to come out of it was Duck Game, in my opinion, and it still serves its purpose for me as a Kodi/XBMC box.
>>344499927
Dump the zero and get with an hero
>>344500236
>flashback consoles
I didn't know these existed. How close are they to the real thing?
>>344499272
Nobody intelligent did. We hoped for something along the lines of King's Field or some of the indie games on Steam but no, not Skyrim itself. Shame it never got Minecraft or Walking Dead- I think that would have helped.
>>344500472
They're what you'd expect, but not as common these days as they once were.
>>344500313
Drives me crazy. This should have happened eons ago and would have *helped* the system. Wouldn't have made it live on strong, but it would have taken a breath.
>>344500313
>Microsoft literally owns minecraft now
You wont even get it kek
>>344500236
Imagine asking your mom for Zeus, the city builder, and she buys that shit
>>344496629
I remember retarded supporters thinking it would run AAA titles and whatever else was popular at the time.
>>344500532
They got kicked out of e3. I still don't understand exactly why- probably put in the paperwork too late and didn't get an area- but... yeah, that didn't help the system.
They tried bribing the cops, I guess. No idea what's actually going on.
>>344500663
>>They're what you'd expect,
What should I expect?
>built-in games
To me that sound like bad news. How is the build-quality? Do they come with real controllers?
>>344500313
Can't you just sideload the native android version on it?
>>344500938
You can force it but its so underpowered it lags behind.
>>344496629
I enjoy mine, I like playing co-op games with my little cousins, sue me
>>344498607
>that running animation
EVERY TIME
>>344500472
In my experience, they are like physical copies of emulators. Not as good as the real deal, not as shit that it's a deal breaker. Don't usually come with any good games though. Not recommended.
>>344500838
E3 is an invite only show. You don't go there and just get in.
Once they realized this, they started making noise and complaining, which made the E3 people get angry. Then they hired a spot outside E3, they kicked moved, set up in a parking lot, then Sony parked some trucks in front of their stall to block them. Maybe they shouldn't have been such fucking assholes and they'd not have cops investigating what the fuck was going on?
>>344500883
They're 2600 system-on-a-chip with a billion games built in. They either come as a controller you plug into your monitor/TV, that has all the guts inside, or a 'console' that's like the controller version, but has separate controllers you plug into the console, which you then plug into your monitor/TV. Build quality is above ouya, but not much more than that. You get what you pay for.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTqhyHuKVKA
>>344500768
See, it could play Quake 3 just fine. Dumb the graphics down a fair bit and it *could* work, but it wouldn't be as pretty a game as the other consoles had of course. Played emulated PS1 games just fine though- something looking a bit like that would have worked nicely. Android has had some decent-looking games, as has iOS (which has a port of Bioshock).
>>344499542
Proud owner of PSTV here. Fuck the OUYA
>>344501196
... man. Yeah, they were assholes.
So begins the revolution indeed.
>>344498607
>Still better animation than Bioware
>>344501216
Is there a real reason why this failed? or was it just lack of games?
>>344500472
That particular Genesis one works mostly good as long as you enjoy hearing terrible-quality music. The audio is fucked, but game's run fine enough.
Digging into the archive for some rarely reposted ones I made back when there were threads made for this piece of shit console.
>>344501196
> GTA
> Battlefield
> Skyrim
> On Android
>>344501180
Emulators are generally better than the real deal though.
>>344500472
Atari flashback since 2 are hardware clones, so they are perfect for gifts if you have friends who owned an Atari. Also the controllers are compatible with 2600/7800 versions.
The Genesis one is horrible and sound is terrible.
>>344501415
It's a fucking android machine running with china-tier hardware, do you need anything else? It's not a good reason enough?
>>344501196
There are AssCreed spinoffs for Android.
Bastion had an Android port.
Battlefield "ports" for Android exist.
Dungeon Defenders First Wave was for Android.
Fifa for Android exists.
Ouya had a port of Final Fantasy III.
Android ports of GTA3 and Vice City exist.
Minecraft exists for Android.
Need for Speed "ports" exist on Android.
Terraria exists for Android.
It all *could* have worked. The hardware was obscure though. Not much incentive to go with them. More than anything, there wasn't much reason to support Ouya.
>>344501415
>run by a woman
Destined for death
>>344501415
It had terrible hardware.
It had no actual games.
Games had to have a free to try option.
There was very little quality control.
They had a stupid policy that forced people to keep games exclusive to the ouya for XX months, which was a dealbreaker for their target indie devs.
The controller is awful.
The hardware in general was awfully assembled. Wireless didn't work because the console blocked the signal.
The exclusives were all shit like amazing frog. Good developers took one glance at the anti-developer licenses and rules and told them to fuck themselves.
So, now that all is said and done - was it worse than the Gizmondo?
>>344501876
Gizmondo is portable and wasn't made of recycled chinese ricehats.
>>344502012
This wouldn't even be half as obnoxious if it weren't for all of that marketing. There's a retarded market for people who'd want to play android games on a bigger screen.
The primary reason to get one, but people can emulate all the same shit on ANCIENT pentium IIIs with geforce 2s, so what was the point?
>>344501415
It didn't know what it wanted to be and relied to much on a non-existent base of developers to decide that for them. They had a neat idea: give developers a dev kit to develop Android games on and give them free reign to a online storefront for their games. An indie version of Steam with far more control in the hands of developers. A large drawback of this was quality control- for a good while, Ouya lacked many "games" (in my opinion). More disappointing, developers whom could have slightly modified their Android games to support the Ouya's controller did not.
They didn't market well and the system didn't have much of a "sell factor" from the get go.
From this
>>344501514
The former two *do* exist on phones.
To this.
>>344500236
wait, the fuck? Indivisible came out?
>>344499891
> no. thats the point
Actually people only remember him because he was dumb enough to back the Ouya. And he was trying his hardest to justify while everyone was laughing at him.
>>344502301
Accessibility, mostly. Came with the controller and everything.
Today I've got a Winbook TW801 doing the same and more that I used the Ouya for.
>>344502518
It had preorders, as I recall.
>>344502748
I have a huge box of controllers, arcadesticks, steering wheels, and joysticks I can plug up to anything with a USB port. The ouya provides nothing.
It's not even portable. You still have to hook it up to a TV.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0ha6Mb5_YQ
Still strikes me as one of the most interesting ads I've seen in a while. Makes me think of Super Jail.

>>344502985
fuck this png, I don't want to have any feels related to the fucking ouya.
>>344503352
She tried. She tried.
>>344503352
There are more tan pics and porn than there are screenshots and memes.
>>344501196
tell me more, we all know about the paperweight itself but not much about the devs are well known.
>>344501785
To be fair, they fixed the wireless issue. Ironically it was backers that got the shoddy initial release.
As for games, we got some gems out of Ouya. Duck Game remains my favorite- now on Steam.
>>344503498
>She tried
No, she didn't.OUYA was bought by Razer, anyway.

The "Newya"- Forge TV, by Razer.
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-forge-tv
This uses Ouya's architecture. http://www.razerzone.com/cortex/tv/games
I don't see a game or app here that wasn't on the Ouya. Many seem to have retained their Ouya titlecard.
>>344497003
They probably thought you were Rainman.
>>344501415
Did you watch the video?
>>344503352
>>344502985
The biggest problem with this is that Ouya shouldn't be a cute girl. It should be a gross, overweight tranny with bad skin and IBS.
>>344503352
>>344503659
dont worry, she hooked up with toasty
>>344505892
>>344505616
Is there any prostitution porn of this slut
Like her on her knees sucking cock for a pittance.
What's the ouya controller like? Is it worth it for PC gaming?
>>344507319
It's awful. They had to send out replacements for it.
>>344497003
>displaying your power level to the commun public
You fucked up your life man.
>>344507319
Cheaply made garbage. Use an Xbox controller, it's better and less expensive.
>>344499927
>little angry that they chose to ignore me and threw money away into it.
Why should that bother you anon.
>go into local GAME
>see this shit
>be extremely fucking tempted
I just can't justify it, though.
>>344503707
What would you like to know? There's not a lot more to say than what's in that post, though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZK97DlEtEU
What do you think about this, /v/?.
>>344509862
If you want one, go to their reddit. They trade and sell theirs for like 10 dollars. Dropping 60+ euros on an ouya is stupid.
>>344509862
Nah don't bother dude.
>>344510150
>euros
Excuse you, shitlord
We're free now
but seriously thanks for the heads up, I seriously don't want to own something as a joke that badly. I'm not on that many layers of irony.
Make an emubox out of it.
So who here /dev edition/? Just me?
>>344506242
Give me the uncensored version, now.
>>344501767
Obscure and underpowered. Like, on par with an old netbook or the Nexus 7 which was asurprisingly good for its timebudget tablet circa 2012.
>>344500753

>>344498607
This is so good. I burst into treats.
>>344510504
what does the dev version include?
Is it good for emulating?
