Long time no thread edition
Been a long time since I saw a RoR thread.
What happened, rainers? Have we been broken? Did we go down? Did everyone forget about risky rains with all the overwatch spam and evolve going f2p?
Threads just sorta lost steam.
Threads were way harder to keep alive as people kinda ran out of things to talk about, bumping just wasnt enough anymore.
Now threads just sorta pop up now and then instead of having them everyday.

I didn't really come to appreciate him until I started playing with /v/ rules (Origin excluded because I didn't get that yet but it doesn't really make that much of a difference) but the ability to one shot most early enemies makes a big fucking difference

Use the wiki. First character you'll probably unlock is Enforcer, who you get by beating Colossus, Magma worm, and Wandering Vagrant. You do not have to do it in a single run. Either him or Bandit really, who you get by beating the 3rd stage. If you're really lucky you can also get Chef and Acrid early

No problem. Also that image isn't kidding about Infusion+Ceremonial Dagger. I tried that shit with the /v/ settings (Sans Sacrifice and Origin because I didn't have the former until yesterday and still don't have the latter) and they make the game pathetically easy, especially with Sniper

You should replace it with more forbidden items. Chargefield isn't that broken, but Frost Relic can get pretty OP once you start stacking

I thought the update made it cap at 3 shards, but new kills just refreshed duration? The reason it caused crashes so much was like Chargefield, it just keeps getting bigger until the numbers fuck up the game and it dies on us. I was pretty sure the cap fixed that.

That's how it works. It just does a lot of dps, so when you've got a lot of goat hooves and hoopa feathers you basically run back and forth killing everything in milliseconds which refreshes the icicles. Late game Chargefield+Frost Relic is fucking disgusting because you barely need to use your weapons since just standing there kills everything

Fiiiiine, I'll put them on tomorrow, I'm about to go to sleep. Feathers are generally better than jetpack, but work best in tandem once you have a few of each. I usually go with a ratio of about 2-1 or 3-1 for feathers-jetpacks.

I don't understand why Command isn't considered ezmodo, especially when playing chars that benefit massively from certain items, like Loader.
I also don't get why choosing your own oranges is allowed as opposed to using Enigma because consistently stopping time, for example, comes more than half way to breaking the game.
But on the other hand, a lot of things break RoR, and Enigma can also be used to spawn multiple imps at 0 seconds into the game, after which you can get exploit ladders/ropes to avoid damage and get sick items right off the bat.

Yeah, that's breaking the game with Enigma. If it lands on Unstable Watch at 0 seconds, it triggers the 10 min imp spawn. As long as you don't have shit luck and get a bunch of imp tails, the items should be able to carry you for at least one stage.

What would be the recommended way for people starting up to catch up.
As I see it vanilla feels way too random, especially on some classes that seem to rely more on items, but using Command with no drawbacks makes everything piss easy, and turning other artifacts on to compensate for the cheapness can turn everything into a hell.

It controls like most 2d platformers were you can only shoot in front of you, but Huntress can shoot behind her and kite.
