to this day I have never beaten Ludwig, meaning I have never fought Failures, Maria, nor Orphan.
I feel like I'm missing out big time, but what's worse is I can't summon a single person. My bell resonates with no one. ever.

it's fun as fuck. bloodborne dlc is way better than the original game. the weapons are more fun, the fights are tougher; the only downside is the level design, the exploration and atmosphere on average is pretty crap compared to yharnam, old yharnam, mensis, and cainhurst.

orphan is an incredible fight
but don't give up on ludwig
i say stack your vial runes, bring 27 vials and increase stamina, executioner oath rune for extra heal effect, tank as much as you can
dont use transform weapon, it's too slow and takes too long to wind up each swing, use firepaper, use wooden shield (im not kidding) it will reduce damage by 50% which is better than taking ludwig's 800+ damage attacks headone if you fail to dodge

Ludwig was the hardest boss to beat for me. I find the whirlygig with fire damage is pretty effective.

I will admit the cut scene when Ludwig goes to his second phase (Ludwig, the Holy Blade) was pretty cool, seeing him regain his long lost humanity.
