Oh boy I fondly remember going to stores at midnight to pick up full price games from soulless retailers.
Now I can just get new games from 10 bucks and up at release or during sales or whenever the fuck I want, and Predownload everything so as soon as it hits midnight I can just play the fucking game.

Yes completely unlike cartridges, right? There's a reason they are not being made anymore.
Disc are now obsolete actually. And digital media means years from now when that service goes under for whatever reason, you can NOT play that game now. Or even if they let you keep it without signing in, if you ever experience a full system delete, the game is gone forever.

I fucking dreaded the transition to discs as a kid and then it happened and everything was fine. Discs and disc readers turned out to be way less fragile than I expected and consoles like the Gamecube had really decent loading times.
I don't like consoles enough to buy them anymore but discs aren't really the problem

I am aswell. It'll either go cartridges, or god forbid, cloud streaming. Meaning you can't play without signing in or having a steady internet connection. (I have an amazing connection and ps now still sucked and I was kicked from it every 30 minutes)
