Neither are Asian. AC ended up with Asian-looking characters because the mo-cap actors were Japs. FF characters are traditionally inspired/modeled after Westerners: Squall's features were inspired by River Phoenix, Ashe's by some Frenchwoman, and most characters in Kingsglaive are Americans/British/French. Only Yuffie was actually Asian in FFVII.

Cloud on the other hand is blonde and has blue eyes. There's no getting around that, he's Caucasian-inspired.
