Clock speed is too low. If Microsoft had planned backwards compatibility from the beginning they would have increased the CPU clock speed to 2GHz. That would probably be enough of a difference to eliminate the performance issues some BC titles have.

Have you played Xbox 360 games on Xbox One? There are quite a few that run noticeably worse and the most likely culprit is the CPU. It's a very weak processor and runs at too low of a clock speed. Sure it's better than the 360 processor but so is any modern smart phone CPU.

Some run better, some run worse. Not sure what that comes down to exactly, but Red Dead runs better on the Xbone, and that's a classic example of something is quite CPU intensive (A.I. Randomly generated events. Dynamic day/night/weather cycles). Increasing the speed of the Xbones processor from 1.7Ghz to 2Ghz would make no fucking difference at all.
A 360 plus DR1 is like $50.

On a base level 1 and 2 are pretty much the same but just about every single little change made in 2 was for the worse.

And as an addendum to this I still own and can play the original on my Xbox 360 but would buy it again on PC for a decent price pretty much purely for being able to share in game photos. Also my 360 isn't the most convenient thing to use, it works, but it's semi-retired now. A PC release would immortalize the game. That's the real thing, console exclusives can die over time if they aren't made by Nintendo.
Does anybody at SGDQ do a perfect Dead Rising run or something like that? I'd watch. Hearing this still gets my heart beating faster:
