>lol

Why does Bethesda insist on using the worst system for monster and weapon drops ever?

Seriously, fuck having monster's leveling up with you. It's just not fun.

Side topic. When will they remake the best game in the series?
>>
>>344383195
That's pretty funny.
Bethesda doesn't make great games though. They make passable games. Quantity over quality etc etc.
>>
>>344383658
We'll never have a game like Morrowind again :(
>>
>>344383195
I like it. Nothing is more boring than missing an area and leveling up only to finally find it overleveled where the enemies can't scratch you and they die in two hits.

Also I'm pretty sure you can turn off level scaling so you can have your fun little shooting sprees.

They are, Skyrim remaster is coming in October

because it's on a decade old engine

>Hating coming back to an earlier level and wrecking guys who gave you shit before.
You're the kind of guy people don't listen to when others ask what fun is.

Also, Skyrim is the worst game in the series. /v/ agrees with me, so it's true. :^)

>>344383713
take the goggles off. Bethesda has always made janky bullshit. It's just entertaining janky bullshit.
>>
>>344383415

what class is that dunmer?
>>
It's not a bad system and it works to let the player do anything at anytime.

Toddy is just shit at it, Fo4 did it slightly better but they managed to fuck up much more.
>>
>>344383195

enemy scaling is fine, because if youre quite a passive build you can rely on your scaled companions to destroy everything while you buff them, not as fun but it just works

the itemisation is pure shit though

People liked Morrowind because it was alien, atmospheric, and more creative than any other rpg at the time, and even still to this day.

What the FUCK is that face in the 55th panel?
>>
>>344383195
Meh. People bitch about it either way.

I don't think that there's a great way to go one way or the either on that. Steamrolling is boring and never feeling empowered sucks too.

To shill for a second, just got done with technomancer, and I kind of liked their method. (Game requires copious amounts of backtracking) about when you start steam rolling is when story shit happens and mobs are upgraded in previous areas. So your shit guards from earlier are wearing stronger armor specifically against your powers that fit in with what's happening in the story
>>
>>344384223
Yeah, but it's not fun. I like being able to come to an enemy that was wrecking my shit earlier, and after getting better weapons and increasing my level, plowing them into the dirt. It's revenge fantasy. Also, it gives me a nice feel to how far I've come since I started the game.
>>
Bethesda has never made a good game
>>
>>344383195
This is an appropaite depiction of level scaling in bethesda games.
>>
>>344384261
Are the mods to the point of making it seem like a modern game? I'd love to go back and replay it, since I only played it when I was young and couldn't understand what I was doing, but I'm not gonna slug through Brown: The Game just for muh nostalgia.
>>
>>344384105
>missing an area and leveling up only to find it
>going back to an earlier level and wrecking the guys who gave you shit before
I'm talking about all the early dungeons and things in the world you might miss originally then when you come back and find them it's no fun because you can basically walk through them.

>>344384112
The nostalgia goggles are so fucking strong on /v/ skyrim was the first elder scrolls game I played and I liked it so with all the autist screaming at me for liking what they don't like I gave morrowind and oblivion both a shot and what a surprise, they're both pretty bad and I can't see any reason to play them other than nostalgia which thankfully I don't have for them.

With more sperg screaming I decide to try a fallout game and pick New Vegas and /v/ lied to me again, it starts off boring and only gets less interesting somehow.
>>
>>344384471
I'd say the mods are pretty decent. Morrowind has a great graphics mod that let you upgrade nearly every aspect, including making plants pickable like in Skyrim rather than manually dropping them in the inventory each time. It's still got that combat in though, but there are separate mods to get rid of that if that's what you want.
>>
>>344384383

if youve already cleared an area, i think that area always has that level of enemies in it, i remember one hitting a lot of bandits in skyrim at higher levels

oblivion was different because you had random bandits with full glass sets and shit

>blaming /v/ for your shit taste.
The thing about early game stuff in Morrowind though, was that they were short and easy to get through. So if you find them early game they only gave you a minor boost compared to the great things you got later in the game with more compelling quests. In fact, a lot of the quest you just find by stumbling upon them by exploring the roads, and they don't often involved killing easy monster's either. It's smartly designed, almost like a Dark Souls layout only you have to find the easy missions first.
Kek.

if you have a brown fetish sure
>>
>>344384705
I remember in Fallout 4 completing that mission where you had to kill all the forge guys in the early game. Came back at level 35 and they were just as difficult, if not more. That infuriated me.
>>
>>344383195
I prefer this. Does not make sense that because you are level 20 that you one shot town guards.

If all you remember is brown then clearly you didn't get very far.
>>
>>344385684
Guard constantly stay the same level. That was a huge problem in Oblivion because if you leveled up the monsters in missions would level up too. But if you had to do a quest involving humans on your side then they'd get creamed. Which is why it was important to remember which quest involved escorting or fighting with groups of people so you could do those early game.
>>
>>344385870
What I'm saying is that the D&D system where normal humans are 1/2 of a level 1, making a level 9 be pretty unstoppable unless they have high guards that are not normal milicia.
>>
>>344384870
>>Level scaling

Morrowind did have level scaling, for monsters and loot. Check the Construction Set sometime.
>>
>>344386249
Yea vut the difference is that they replaced them with more advanced monsters. Different magical effects, different weaknesses. It's bullshit when they just make the enemies spongier and bump up their damage.
Also, Morrowind didn't level scale unique artifact loot. That's one of the biggest crocs of shit to come out of Skyrim. For shame, Bethesda.
>>
>>344383195
TeS is all about exploration and porn mods. Absence of auto-levelling cuts your exploration possibilities.
