I think creating universes is what he does best, and his universes are generally hard to force something like sequels on. I know he didn't write it, but I think Dark Souls 2 is a good example of this, and Dark Souls 3 to an extent.

It's not perfect.
Earlier today I was on NG+, got to the upper cathedral ward and the atmosphere and tone is incredible. The fog creeping in, the creepy drone of music, a bell ringing in the background. Church doctors mumbling nonsense as they see me. Look behind them to see a church/manor with secrets and death behind every corner. God fetuses litter every step and you don't know why. This game is a fucking masterpiece.

I fucking shit myself the first time I encountered those eyeball fuckers. I thought it was a good scare late in the game to fuck up my false sense of security. That's the beauty of Dark Souls games. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.
I don't think it's a cheap or flawed mechanic. Once you figure out how it works, you can easily play around it.

Japan Studio has been great for some time now. They basically saved the Vita and are working on the only decent PS4 first-party games; Gravity Rush 2 and TLG. I wish Sony gave them more resources instead of pouring it all in Naughty Dog.

I don't get why people hate the chalices so much. You can just bum-rush the bosses and pick up the necessary items along the way. Plus majority of the bosses are pretty fun to fight.

Chalice Dungeons can be great if you enjoy spelunking. Quite useful as a training ground. The claustrophobic feeling you get while wandering around in them is exquisitely atmospheric.

He said recently in an interview that they have three games in development not including DaS3 DLCs and that one of them is a new dark fantasy IP, one something similar to another game they've done (probably a new Armored Core or a spiritual successor with 'from the makers of Dark Souls' on it so it sells better) ad something that's apparently completely new and they've never tried before, so it remains to be seen what his next game will be out of those. Unless he pulls a BB/DS3 and says 'lol I'll direct all fucking 3 at once while running a goddamn company relax it's fine' again.
That said, literally when are they gonna announce these DLCs? The first is meant to be out in Autumn and we know fucking nothing about them yet except an offhand comment Miyazaki made about the first one using DS1 style vertical map design.

So anyone notice the white squid look monsters that shoot poison in the Nightmare Frontier look very similar to the Orphan of Kos? If you pay attention when they do their poison spray attack you see little bodies trapped inside of them. They look like messangers. I have a theory that Kos fell from the nightmare onto the shore of the fishing hamlet. We know the hamlet is above the hunter nightmares, and the frontier is above the hamlet. Don't know what this means it just seems like there is some connection.

You have the Hunter's Dream, the Nightmare of Mensis, Nightmare Frontier, the Lecture Building, the Hunter's Nightmare, the Research Hall, and the Fishing Hamlet. These are all Nightmare/Dream realms, alternate realities generally created or maintained by Great Ones. The Chalice Dungeons and Moonside Lake may also apply.
Everything else, from Central Yharnam to Yahar'gul and all the stops along the way, is the Waking World, what you and I would consider to be real. Both the Nightmare Realms and the Waking World are real, the Nightmare Realms are just an alternate dreamscape reality.
The Fishing Hamlet was a real place in the Waking World before it was taken by or recreated in the Hunter's Nightmare. Therefore Kos couldn't have fallen from Nightmare Frontier into it, because it wasn't there yet.And also the Kos' Parasite specifies she washed up on the shore, already dead.
