Actually that is quite blatantly false because Venom went looking for Quiet and Quiet tried to infect Venom at several times throughout the game however eventually she makes contact with Big Boss (she gives venom the man who sold the world tape) and he convinces her to let go of her hatred and desire for revenge to instead work for him (she actually trains FOXHOUNDS Sniper Wolf herself, listen to the tapes and then compare Sniper Wolf's and Quiet's abilities.) and find new purpose.
Venom however loved Quiet and his discovery of Big Boss' hiding her from him was part of why he punched the mirror and part of why he rebelled against Big Boss' will in Outer Heaven.
