Look at it as a game that will get better over time. It won't die anytime soon, and will get more and more content as it goes on. But as of right now, it has $20 worth of content
If you're on console Destiny is a better choice in the same genre. It got same'ish multiplayer mechanics, of course i'm stretching it but the dynamic is kinda similar. But also there is PvE in there and a lot more content.
If you're on PC just play a good game like Quake, Unreal, CS GO if it floats your boat. OW is overhyped overpriced garbage. Also so much OW stealth marketing here on /v/ with pandering to brony/furfag/waifu types.

my brother literally WILL NOT play it because it's by blizzard, and he complains its a tf2 reskin. there's literally no way to explain to him how neat and fun the game feels, if you're on the fence just fucking buy it
