Infinite does not even deserve to be called a bioshock game they could have gave it a new title and took out the rapture part at the end of the game and it was a different game all together
Story and world design wise, the first game was the best.
I think 2 has the best gameplay. It forces you to use all the weapons and play somewhat tactically, which puts the combat miles above the other two games. Even though its the most flawed, I think its my favorite in the series.
Infinite has incredible art direction but I was let down by everything else. The combat and enemy design is awful, vigors never feel fully utilized, there are endless waves of damage spong enemies. The story has been talked about to death but suffice to say it is awful. A mediocre game that got crushed under the weight of its own hype.
I recommend playing bioshock 2 because I do think it is the best actual video game of the three.

The idea of exploring more of Rapture, especially in an older, decaying version is quite the draw for me but unfortunately the story in 2 was utter garbage. Gameplay and more exploration was enough to salvage it for me, but the story and Big Sisters are atrocious.

Plasmids were thematically unrelated to the game, the story was predictable, none of the characters were that interesting, and the two weapon limit irked me a bit. The environment was fun, locations were good, rail system was interesting if ridiculous, gameplay was solid. Overall it was a disappointment compared to the first two but not as bad as some would claim.

Knew the twist was coming and I expected it; the only thing that surprised me was the multiverse ending but since we were already dealing with hopping dimensions it didn't seem like too much of a leap.

Bioshock 2 is the most contrarian video game ever made. The gameplay is only marginally improved upon the original and everything else is worse. It's easily the worst and most forgettable game in the series and I don't understand the love for it.
Bioshock 1 and Infinite all tried something new and largely succeeded. Bioshock 2 is just this lazy rehash that only has dual-wielding going for it, but even then Infinite has it too and its better in that game.

Bioshock 2 is fucking terrible. Was fun for like 2 hours and then just drags on for the other 10-12 or so. The story is just plain bad and it makes everything else feel like a painful, tedious slog. Infinite is objectively the best one, but Bioshock 1 is also great.

Infinite isn't as bad as /v/ says it is, it's just vastly overrated. /v/ gets bootyblasted at Infinite because it wasn't the psychological horror game they were expecting. It was still fun. But that could be because I have a weakness for games with grappling hooks.

1 is the best story wise, and is still very good in all other aspects.
2 is the best in the series because while its story isn't as strong it still stands on its own and more importantly it is the more fun game to play because it streamlined all the more annoying parts about the first game (namely being able to dual-wield, taking out that pointless crafting, and not forcing me to play pipe-panic every 5 minutes). It also has one of the best DLCs in existence.
infinite is alright and probably wouldn't get near as much flack if bioshock wasn't in the title, its story made any fucking sense, and I got to fight the Songbird at the end like the game was hyping up the whole time. solid 7/10 and even then I'm feeling generous.
