I don't see the hubbub around cod4. It was a good game and all but world at war expanded on it greately and cod4 is pretty barebones in comparison. But unlike the ones after that it didn't overdo it with the bagillion retarded fucking killstreaks.

I never beat the campaign but got really far in it. I still think the campaign is pretty good. And the game was a lot more brutal than the sequels ever were.

I hope world at war gets a HD facelift to. But considering they've stopped caring about dedicated servers for years now and cod4 only has half it's origjnal maps, maybe it's just better that they don't remake any of the good ones anymore..

In a game like COD it's hard not to. You have to remember that all the maps are much smaller than most FPS's. In a game like battlefield sub machine guns really aren't as good.
I don't really know how balancing them would work. They already have low DPS usually but pro players are absurdly good with them and if you can aim straight they can be as effective as an assault rifle at mid range.

MW2 was unbalanced as fuck and I even remember hearing when the game first came out that they tried to have tournaments but it was just so unbalanced it just wasn't happening.
But MW2 was fun as fuck. I'm not sure why. But MW3 was awful, even worse than ghosts. The guns didn't feel fun anymore and they nerfed the fuck out of shotguns. Especially the spaz 12. there was no fucking reason to do that at all.

their excuse is the "movement in WaW is fucked" , but then they also force you to not shoot with pistols outside buildings, you need to let everyone know when youre out of ammo, and no sprinting allowed ever. Blot actions only, too.
