Are you serious? Shattered Soldier is one of the less difficult Contra games, Contra 3 and 4 just walk over it.
Shattered Soldier has 3 different guns at all times, they are quite shit, but enemies and bosses are especifically designed around it..

That game is one of the easier contra games. I can S every stage but the final one cause I'd die to a bouncing ball from the final boss.
