Who's the best idea Guy in the industry?
Overall, Miyamoto.
Naughty Dog
for having the idea that video games could be a respectable form of art
Don't really think there is one objective best guy, but for me, my favorites would be Hideki Kamiya and Hironobu Sakaguchi.

Cliffy B, although he was more than just an idea guy.
>>344245246
>Neil Druckmann
Fuck you, you made me respond
Todd Howard has done more for the industry than anybody. You should buy Skyrim and Fallout 4 if you haven't already, OP.

>Idea guy
Miyamoto was an actual developer though
>>344245625

This, he started out as an artist and then went on to actually develop the games. As disappointing as E3 2015 was I did enjoy the little insight they gave us into the development of the first Super Mario Bros. and Miyamoto did a lot of the work on it.
You can't be called an ideas guy if you're actually heavily involved with the development, writing and design of the game.
An ideas guy is someone who has no proper skills but still thinks his input matters. You can't attribute that to guys like Kojima and Miyamoto.
SUDA51

It's common knowledge that custom code had to be written for MGS because his lackies couldn't do things right, so Kojima took over to do it himself.
Keiji Inafune of course
>fatman Gabe
>Idea guy
He worked at Microsoft.
>>344244715
i don't think you quite understand what that means
>>344247481
I always knew inafune was weak.
>>344247913
If you have no talent in development, writing, or games design yet still telling people to make a game to your liking, you're an idea guy>
protip: of those 4, miyamoto and kojima are especially idea guys
Gary Newman became a billionaire doing programming for Microsoft.
I think Hideo Kojima and Miyamoto both did programming originally when they made Metal Gear and Donkey Kong / Super Mario Bros, but I could be wrong. I know that Miyamoto at least is an artist and he was originally going to become a mangaka. There's documents of Miyamoto setting up the maps on paper for the original Super Mario since it wasn't as easy as a tilemap maker we have today.
Can't speak for Todd. He's supposedly good at chess.

A business man is not an idea guy.
>>344244715
Kojimbo developed MG and MG2, and did level design for MGS using Legos. Just saying.
>>344244715
>Miyamoto is an idea guy
Well meme'd
>>344245625
For me:
>Hideki Kamiya
>Shigeru Miyamoto
>Masahiro Sakurai
>Shinji Mikami
>Warren Specter
I really feel like Michel Ancel, Suda51, and Tomonobou Itagaki should be up there as well.
He doesn't have anything left in the tank, but Miyamoto for his overall career.
I'm pretty sure everyone in that picture knows programming. Or at least knew, god knows Gaben doesn't do shit anymore, I bet he goes to the office once a week for an hour or two to fuck his secretary (sitting of course, no way he'd go to the effort of bending her in the desk and having to stand up)
>>344244715
Wasn't Gabe the person that made the doom port for Windows?
>>344247481
kamiya is hot
Todd Howard hands down
Hes a genius, not too mention totally jacked and like 6'5
