still worth owning? its the only 6th gen console i havent gotten
Yes, especially for home brews and the fact that you can burn literally any game to a cheap CD-R and it will play.
If you're a good hunter, you can find one for like 20 bucks.

can someone what that little screen was ever used for?
>>344244746
It had little minigames depending on what game you used
Also it was a memory card
I'd say yes just for Shenmue, but aside from that pretty much everything worth getting on the DC has been ported elsewhere by now. Depends on what all systems you have I guess.
YESZ!
The DC is a premium console like a Neo Geo. Nearly every multiplat/ports of DC games play the best by DC, with exception of Skies of Arcadia on DC that just has more content(still technically inferior to original).

yes senpai.
It has the best arcade ports, Some sick ass exclusives, best ps1/n64 ports, the best version of SA1, most of the DC ports to other systems are shit, the games are relatively cheap (if you plan on buying the actual games that is)

>I'd say yes just for Shenmue
pretty much this, and i doubt sega can re-release it for other consoles because of licensing issues
>>344244869
PS2 had something like this with FF8. Never came to the U.S. though.
>>344244746
The memory card functioned as its own handheld. With sonic adventure 2 it had some kind of chao minigames you could play. The screen is just the VMU seen through the open window in the controller.
>>344245946
it WAS scheduled too though
i have a ton of mags from that year that confirmed we WERE going to get it come Nov or Dec 99
>>344245529
>licensing issues
For a Sega-produced game?
>>344246228
huh i wonder why we never got it, must have sold like shit in japan
>>344245946
>>344246410
i was referring to the product placement in the game
>>344246439
heh
i always wondered what happened to that winner since we didn't get a "sequel" until like 10 something years later.
>>344246705
Was there more product placement than the Coca-cola and Sapporo machines?
The Coke ones were replaced with generic Jet Cola machines in the US version anyway.
>>344247740
havent played the game in years but i do remember ryo wearing a timex watch
>>344244698
Got a replacement at my local game store for 18 bucks after my mainboard died on my original. Feels pretty good
>>344247919
Oh yeah, I forgot. His alarm clock was Timex as well. I don't think replacing a handful of logos would be enough to keep the game from rerelease though.
>>344246784
He probably got an alternate cash prize or something.
>>344247986
Damn bro, you're dashin'.
I have a local gamestore like that as well, but they mark stuff like that up too much, and add in extra shit you don't want.
>>344246108
The power stone 2 mini games were pretty nice. And the shenmue ones were ok.
>>no copy protection
>>Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia, THPS2, Sonic Adventure, Shenmue
Yes, very much so
>>344242631
Can someone explain to me why you would buy an out of date console?
>>344251929
to play videogames anon
>>344252058
This is like saying you own a dog to buy hamburgers. I do not understand.
>>344252552
You take the videogame and place it inside the console. Then you plug the console into your TV and turn it on and it plays videogame.
>>344251929
Because not everyone plays games just for the multiplayer and graphix, Chad.
>>344252661
wow there anon, you're talking too fast
>>344251929
Did you want a (you) that badly, anon?
>>344244746
A cool feature that wasn't used that often was having it display stats or maps.
I thought it was a nice touch when it'd display your health as a heart beat monitor in Code Veronica.
>>344242631
If you like Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead, and want a Chao tamagotchi then yes.
>>344249892
They wanted more originally for the bundle they offer but I didn't need any controllers so I got an okay price.
>>344252552
>This is like saying you own a dog to buy hamburgers.
>>344252552
>This is like saying you own a dog to buy hamburgers
What did he mean by this
>>344244746
You could use it to choose plays in one of the NFL football games.
>>344255706
This was a goat feature tbqh
Dreamcast was too good
Way ahead of its time.
