You're using the shortstop, a mid-range weapon. The push from the altfire has a more horizontal aim than the airblast, though it functions similarly.
It's a good harassment tool if you want to get distance from your opponent. Scout is known for being a cunt anyway and the shortstop pales in comparison to the stock so the idea is functional.

Do you guys need community server recommendations?
I have good experiences with APP's payload servers, unfortunately they're 24/7 but they tend to not tolerate friendlies (and in my experience you could easily get a squeaker votemuted)
