Yoshida's pushed a lot of the more fringe stuff to come out of Japan Studio like Puppeteer and Gravity Rush, so he's not all bad. Also he negotiated the Bloodborne deal with From after he fluffed DeS (Which to his credit, he came clean about and admitted he majorly fucked up) and missed out on having Sony get the DaS games to themselves, as well as commissioning two more From/Japan Studio collaborations after BB sold well.

FF7 remakes will not be DLCs like the new Hitman or TellTale games. They will be like the FF13 triology, each a full game.
It's just that japanese have a different understanding and you as a westener interpreted what they said wrong. They are expanding each section of FF7 to a full game. Say what you will of FF13's quality, but at least they were not short episodic games.

Yoshida spends a lot of time on twitter responding to whoever. He admited PSVR's resolution wasn't that good and that it wasn't the best experience to play any one game in "cinematic" mode compared to a normal TV. He also had no problem stating that Zelda was his favorite game at this year's E3 to plenty of on-floor journalists. He also participates in various podcasts and panels, including Q&A's about random shit where he talked about Sony's bad management and various mishaps between other stuff no one at nintendo would never dare to say about their company and personal life.
You never see any of that behavior coming out of Nintendo's peeps. They are always on lock-down safe PR mode, that disgustingly fake "down to earth" appeal with all the puppets and such. That's such obvious pandering.
