I've come to terms with the fact that people do this, I guess it's just a desire to have cool friends who like the same shit you do which is how all e-celebs make their cash. I don't know why you'd ruin a game you can go out and play right now by having some dipshit talk over it but for some games you don't plan to play I guess it's alright.

i have gained countless invaluable techniques, habbits, and strategies from watching high level players play Rainbow Six: Siege. This has then lead to me gaining a better understanding of the game and coming up with a lot of my own tech on maps that have worked out very well.
For the most part I watch for entertainment, but I also play games more then I watch people play games

I sometimes watch for games I'm not good at myself, to try to learn how to play them better.

Basically this. Occasionally I'll watch if it's a game I might want.
There are time when I don't want to play video games, generally because I'm too tired to focus and play optimally.
During those times, I also don't really want to watch good TV, because if I have enough focus to get engaged in a good series, I have enough focus to be playing a video game. So it comes down to either garbage TV that I don't really need to pay attention to, or video game footage with people talking over it that I also don't need to pay attention to.
