It does have pretty solid geometry, but I would've liked even more casino lights and casinos in general. It's impossible to do with Bethesda's variant of Gamebryo, but the Strip would've been neat as shit if it looked the way it did in the concept art.

google Rick's Tools Mafia II, that guy put out an unzipping program for some of the mafia II files (think OpenIV but for mafiaII) and its the only way to change things like follow distance and FOV. Other than that I dont mess with it. I just can't stand console port level field of view

Very. Emulating reality in a video game is neat and all, but I can just look out my window and get that experience without technical restraints. Granted, I won't be shooting brown people and seeing my city blanketed by high-poly explosions, but still, the kind of style and world that's presented in your shot there is something I can only experience in that game and that impresses me more.

I was suprised at how well it looked for 8k downscaled to 4k (i only have a 1080p monitor and a 970).
It feels like down the road all they have to ~5 years from now is be able of supporting more advanced and accurate lighting and visual effects and it'll be just as graphically capable as new games in 2021.

There's nothing particularly technically impressive about this game. It essentially uses "baked lighting" in the form of high-resolution photographic textures, which would actually look pretty good, considering -- if it weren't for the shitty postprocessing.
