RBY were the worst games. They were buggy and unpolished, had shit balance and shit mechanics.
The core gameplay didn't really get settled and actually really working well till gen 4 with the physical special split.

It's literally the same game with different creatures everytime. No matter what you not pick that is basically it. Get Pokemon walk around get more Pokemon beat elite 4 put catch all Pokemon. Put it down and forget till the next one comes out

Yeah, I was just EV training some Pokemon in gen 6. It's great how the franchise gets better every generation, the improvements are so staggering it's almost impossible to replay the old games. Remember how amazing gen 4 seemed at the time? And now it's a retch-worthy experience going back to those terrible engines and lackluster graphics.
