I just don't like motion controls, mouse included. I get that they're the best for FPS, but it's meh. I don't play that much FPS. If I wanted to get seriously into racing games, I'd use a wheel. If I wanted to play a flight sim or dogfighting game, I'd use a flight stick. I generally only use kb+m for games that have fucktons of inputs, and that are made for use with a mouse like strategy games.
It's just not that big of a deal to me. Then again, I've literally never cared about esports faggotry.

Fighting games do require planning for extended play though, especially in games with an emphasis on setup characters. Venom is non-stop planning for example with ball formations and ball travel to create unique blocking situations for an opponent.

How? Well, I'll get into a little detail about skullgirls after mentioning that when using that controller (I have and use one just like it for SG) I don't use the 'grip' thing on the side, but hold it vertically.
I then map the DPad buttons to compensate for essentially twisting the controller at a 90 degree angle as well as change where some other options are.
There is a mechanic in skull girls called infinity burst- it basically prevents endless combos. However, due to this and other mechanics in SG you can hit buttons VERY EASILY to create short loop-combos and dominate.
