I play every day from 11:00pm-3:00am and wake up feeling like shit. But I play with a crew of 3-5 people, and it's the only game worth playing. Bought Witcher 3, MGSV, DSIII, DOOM, on release day, and the only one that's out of that I started playing has been Witcher 3. Have about 30 minutes of playtime on it, and don't intend to ever start it up again. GTA is still the superior game, provided you aren't a loner.

Red Dead was really fun, GTA is full of toddlers who want to buy retarded car mods and GTA is also loaded with forced, boring activities like racing and skydiving, RDR had much more fun mini games (which were optional), even GTA IV had more fun mini games
GTA online is a non stop grind while trying to avoid getting spawn camped

You're probably right, but the game has moments that make it worth it.
Some other CEO/VIP is doing executive search, so your crew goes in and tries to find him while going at it with his crew. I spotted the CEO, called it out, and got sniped. with 1 second remaining my crew member kills him, and they're buttmad the rest of the time so it becomes a war. We all waste most of our ammo shitting on these dudes, until they leave the lobby. Shit like that happens regularly.
But you are correct that the people I play with are more enjoyable than the game.
There are days when instead of playing that late, we go to the pier and fish at that time. We usually don't catch shit, but it's still a good time.
Why is everyone crying? This actually looks fun. Not like you need to spend time grinding or buying money to play this.

They've never charged for a DLC. And anything that can be seen as necessary is simple enough to get.
Guns- All generally cheap, but you mostly need the Special Carbine/ Bullpup Rifle.
Ammo- Cheap
Cars:
Sports: Elegy is free and still the best in the class. Jester (240k) and Jester Racing is 100k more.
Supers: There are 7 or 8 supers you can use to stay competitive. The two cheapest ones the Turismo (500k), and the Zentorno (750k).
Yachts, planes, helicopters, etc. are all optional things that you end up using sparsely.

Not even close. Thanks to achievement percentages on consoles, you can easily find that the largest GTAO playerbase is on PC and it's pretty small. The game is dead because people don't stay. They come on, buy a shark card, realize it payd for nothing and quit, never to return.

If you don't have the 1.25M to become a CEO then get a group of guys and play Heists. If any one of you have over 1M then do VIP work. VIP is limited to a 4 hour period, but once you become CEO you have unlimited time. Work your way up to getting a medium or large warehouse and fill them up with crates. Medium warehouses can store 42 crates and sells for 735k when full. Large warehouses have the capacity for 111 crates and sales for 2.22M. You could do the crates the way it was intended, but if you simply want to make as much money in as little time, then you have to try and get in a solo public lobby so nobody bothers you. Friends could join off of you, or you could invite them. There a few minutes cool off period between buying crates, so I do Headhunters with either my Hydra or Buzzard in the mean time. And Piracy Prevention every hour (you or someone your playing with needs a Yacht.)
The alternative is grinding Pac Standard Heist.
