240Hz monitors when?
But the human eye can only see 12 pounds per square mile
Sorry dude. I think you mean 8k monitors when. Resolution is more important than refresh rate when 60Hz is achievable.
But 120Hz 4k monitors when.

Never. CPU bottleneck hits at about 100 fps for most modern games.
what game can reach 240 fps while still looking good?
Why are you playing phone games on a monitor?

Ur mum :^)

>Resolution is more important than refresh rate when 60Hz is achievable
Sad part is, there are a lot of people who actually believe this.
>>344164653
Well if you can maintain 60fps without dipping below, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Especially with the jump in quality you get from 4k.
>>344164112
>expecting 60 fps to achievable at 8k
Enjoy your 20 fps at best, I'll stick with my 144hz 1080p.

undertale
>tfw 60 fps literally makes you sick now
If I see a single frame drop below 100 I vomit

Only in really poorly optimized games. Actually, only one I can think of is Dirty Bomb with the oneframethreadlag turned off.
Battlefield 1 Alpha runs at a solid 200 FPS.
Overwatch runs at 250 FPS.
Doom 4 runs at 150 FPS.
They go even higher with lower settings and unlocked frame rates. GPUs are the bottleneck.

You can make good looking games without the overly taxing bullshit post processing and shaders we see in modern games.
Half Life 2 is over a decade old and still manages to look more than passable thanks to it's certain aesthetic appealing to high quality textures and just believable enough lighting.
But the most important thing is, it runs godlike on modern systems. 300-1000 frames per second is not uncommon on a typical gaming machine of today. Best part is, it doesn't even seem to break the engine like most other games running at these absurd frame-rates does.
