To add to that, the main changes were really done because FF XV needed to tell its story in one game.
Versus XIII was going to be a trilogy, 3 games each 25h'ish games were in the schedule.
The first game was basically Versus XIII : Get Stella Back from the Empire.
The second had to end with Noctis winning over Nifflheim, reclaiming his throne.
Third game was way more of fantasy thing with a King Noctis battling against Gods.
It sounded good, but only sounded. It was way too ambitious apparently and too FNC filled imo.
