So I have loved Morrowind, but never really got around playing Oblivion, let alone Skyrim.
Is there a "recommended mod list"?
I mean the ones that people post for Stalker games?
(I checked mod sites, but there are so many mods, and quite a few of them have this "maybe it will work", "meh", "possibly this will do something" descriptions...)

No, because the modern TES community in general is waay different from STALKER.
People play Stalker for immersion, atmosphere and challenge, with mods being there to expand the experience and add features.
Meanwhile TES are played only for furry porn mods.

Sorry I can't give you a list but I've just reinstalled today and the game is looking pretty much real now. I've never been able to get into the game and feel immersed until now.
The main components are:

>realistic pine trees
>realistic aspen trees
>verdant
>immersive weapons and armours
>book of silence(?) Creature one
>water mod of your choice

There are some visual enhancement mods of various types, but that's the closest thing to STALKER's modding you'll get. Apples and oranges.
