The "official" release is in a week or so, but for all intents and purposes the unstable update is the full game. It's happened. And it blows Terraria out of the water. You owe it to yourself to play this game.

Everything is there and in working order, including the intro mission, all missions + bosses, proper progression routes, everything. Terraria is FUCKED if they don't announce Otherworld in the next few days, they can't compete with Starbound anymore. It's just too good.

It may not be totally okay, but at least the Terraria Devs have a solid track history and not a long list of dumb decisions, forum drama, and incompetent devs.
Starbound's devs make promises they can't keep and extend release dates nth times. They don't rely on a standard 0.0.0.0 version of game updates but rather a vague(it's okay because it's funny) system of adjective animals.
Terraria just releases when it's ready and that's all you need to know. No money upfront until it's release is sure-fire. No vague updates or potential-to-change release dates every week or so, nowhere near Starbound's amount of bullshit.
Starbound will probably be shit. They've got too many color palette swapped things and not enough not-procedural things. Same kinda shit with no-mans sky.
Empty and filled to the brim with palette swapped creatures and items. The game will be floaty, weightless, and anti-climactic.
