Wich is better, Thief of Black belt?
i never played any ff game, but i'm decided to play the first one

Thief in FF1 is glitched so his skill to help you escape battles better does not work. He can't steal either so there is literally no reason to ever choose him. Black belt however is GOAT.

It depends.
Overall thief is better, he can escape from any battle which is extremely helpful early on, and he's a total badass when he becomes a ninja. On the other hand, black belt can gimmick kill pretty much anything, including chaos, but it makes the game kinda boring.

I remember someone doing a full Bl.Belt party playthrough and pretty much making everyone shit their pants with how easy it is.
Apparently, nobody ever thinks to get a heal rod as soon as you get the canoe.
