I'm quite aware of the Compilation continuity. Including the novels and such. (I personally despise the Before Crisis Cloud the most. Although it's an interesting view into what he was originally supposed to be like before the big hullabaloo. I'll take even the first hour AC Cloud over that any day.) His relationships are colder, strained. There is an actual significant difference to consider it more likely. Besides those minor lines in Dirge are hardly enough to judge confidently from. A bit better probably, but back? We'll see in that implicit VII-2 we were promised when it released. I have to say even if I was infuriated at the time, for the last seven years I've been evermore intrigued by the prospect. The Remake though put it into the even more distant future.
