The only time MN9 was mentioned was when the people asking the questions asked about it (and red ash)

Other than him just being there to help promote Gunvolt shit, no real MN9 content was talked about.

Supposedly Inafune was by himself for a bit just enjoying AX but I have not found any proof of it. It would explain why he was absent for a while until the panel however.

I was curious how much costs the development of other games.

They wanted to deliver it in every platform possible.
They were more ambitious than they should be.
inafune choose bad guys to work with them for western audience.

The game itself is OK for a japanese game for a japanese market.
(That's why it's good for me.)
But here is another reason why it failed: It's megaman.
Megaman means the "Duty to be the most epic game ever made by humanity".
Also the reason why capcom just decided to kill Megaman.
In other words Megaman series as whole should die and be forgotten by everyone. And beguin from scratch.

Maybe he should stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Trying to compete with a franchise using a shoddy imitation isn't going to be impressive no matter how you look at it. MMfags just want the same thing over and over again with slightly different decoration each time, and each time a new console comes out, they will simply ask "Why can't we have MM with HD graphics for this console?!" Because of course, they aren't just settling for the millions of MM clones out there for PC that use retro or mediocre graphics.

If he had made this his own thing instead of a wannabe MM, at least it would stand out. But even the fans were encouraging this with the way they were voting on things like Call or asking for a Zero or Protoman style character. And all so Inafune can have his own brand, but the fact is he set himself up for failure and the fans helped.

They should. Current fans just have issues with moving on and have way too many and too varied expectations for what makes an MM game, and this would go with any franchise that has a long running cult fanbase and a long running series of games. It reminds me of that episode of Evangelion with the American made giant robot that runs on nuclear energy, and was just a shallow, soulless imitation of an Evangelion unit. And people who backed this were allright with this, because they wanted to dig up Megaman's corpse and reanimate it when Megaman's time has passed. I admit that MM should have been considered for MvC3 because Capcom should realize it's [the crossover idea] about the history of the company and not the business potential of advertising games via characters, and Capcom ignored why people love crossovers. But as far as Megaman ever coming back in a new game of his own, honestly just forget it. That character had a run for good and bad times and needs to be retired for new blood. Too bad for the autistic MM fans existing, though.

While the fans bitch and moan about wanting the same shit always capcom does manage to make some good MM games that don't follow the normal formula, look at MMBNT, it was a success and was very different and Star Force would have been better had they not tried to copy too much elements from MMBNT like they did in 2 where they even introduced a character that was a stand in for Chaud/Protoman/Bass.

The thing about wanting more of the same might also be because they want to know about the end of some of the stories, like what happens at the end of Classic, what leads to the Elf Wars in Xnot the war itself but the last X game that leads to that and whatever the fuckMaster Thomas was trying to do in ZX that would lead to the devastation that we have in LegendsThere is also Legends but I have lost any and all hope on that front

Form his perspective, since he's worked at Capcom, it's not a controversial statement. Inafune is a businessman and illustrator. He's not a director. Thus "Inafune's work" doesn't mean anything, unless you specifically are talking about his drawings. It's only because the MM fanbase has this wrong idea that Inafune is some kind of director or creator of Mega Man that this comes off as a controversial statement.

Even now, most news articles call Inafune the Mega Man "series creator". Which is kind of odd since he joined the team for the first game after it started. Other articles praise Inafune as a game designer of the highest calibur, and that MN9 is some weird fluke.

Inafune under estimated crowd sourcing. He expected it to be some endless cash source. Because Western fans will give you money forever based on good will. He was probably in talks with, and was going to get funding from the Chinese company Fuze anyways. Fuze probably think Inafune is some super star dev and by having him on board, to make games for Fuze's new Android console they'll become successful.

Inti-Creates is prentending the game doesn't exist. This is their booth at Anime Expo. Inti-Creates and Inafune had their own pane and... never mentioned the game once.

They are pominently showing off Bloodstained although it's the same thing. On both games they did art, directing, grunt work, etc. Like 90% of it is Inti-Creates people for both games. MN9 was co-directed by a Comcept person and an Inti-Creates person. Yuji Natsume is the primary artist for both games. Lots of overlap liek that.

Soundtrack is okay. Most of it is done by MM1's composer. You might remember that MM1 had an okay but mostly forgettable score. A few tracks by Inti-Creates people, and one track by the MM2 person.

They didn't just do "grunt work". They directed it, made levels, did the art, did some of the music, etc. It's 90% them. Comcept only had a producer and director added to the project. They're working within the confines that Inafune has created, like 10 ports, stroyline, Unreal Engine 3, gameplay style, etc. But 90%+ of the game is Inti-Creates.

The Comcept and Inti directors were of equal value. And many more of the planners were on the Inti side.

Without Comcept and Inafune, MN9 would have played like a generic Zero game. It would have been forgettable. Inafune added things like 10 ports, and Unreal Engine 3, which they were completely unprepared for, which made it worse and led to all the delays and bugs.
