I'm sorry, I can't agree it's 10/10. I haven't finished it, granted, but that's why it isn't 10/10 for me. I just hate not knowing which ending I'll get, and I don't like having to do the same puzzles five times over. They're fun the first time through, though.
Also disagree on Earthbound. Mother 3's my favorite game, and Earthbound has some cool elements that Mother 3 doesn't, but it is far from 10/10 in terms of gameplay.
I'm not a big Majora's Mask fan. I'd say OoT, Link Between Worlds, or Minish Cap are all better games. (you don't have pick the underdog just because you're posting to /v/)
I'd put Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and one of the Rhythm Heaven games, as well. Maybe Mario Kart 8.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a fundamentally better platformer than this, in my opinion. It's the pinnacle of the genre.
Tons of content, levels are the perfect length, save points are in the right location, and there's bullshit, but it's bullshit you should be able to see coming. Collectibles are great, as they are in any Rare(style) game.

DQI is grinding done right. Small map, little mp and no potions meaning you have to manage your spells well to survive.
DQII must be awesome if you're a kid with lots of free time. I liked it but I had to use a walkthrough. In my defense, I was playing it in japanese.
DQIII is my favourite. Wide map, introduction of a class system. I've played the first three on famicom because I like the graphics better but there are remakes for snes that are also pretty good. In the first three the story is just a pretext.
DQIV comes right after III in my heart. It's more story focused than the previous three but it stays true to the original concept. The characters start having an own personality. Most importantly,you get to play as a fucking jrpg shopkeeper and it's the best thing ever
DQV is pretty good, it's plot focused andyou get a waifu and have kids with heryou can even tame monsters if you want. It's for snes.
DQVI is the first one I've dropped, I just didn't like it. After that I just had the chance to emulate a bit of IX for DS which seemed pretty good but I have a toaster and I had to drop it for the low fps.

Oblivion is the worst mainline elder scrolls game.
It skimps out on the lore, skills, and dice rolls of Morrowind with simplified lore, character attributes, and combat that makes every weapon feel like a butter knife. Honestly Skyrim is more of the same, but at least it had better art design and more-polished mechanics

Sure, its not as bloated as DQVIII. The story is not that long and so its more focused. The gameplay does not require any grinding but has depth due to character combinations. The pacing is very well done and there are no filler segments as everything is related to the plot. Chrono Trigger is succinct at its core and even though I enjoyed DQVIII, to me it does not compare to CT. Not to mention the sprite art and music are top notch. The unique endings and relation between eras are just an icing on the cake
