>steam sale
>buy 100 dollars of games for my younger brother
>apply it to my own account by accident
>refund all of them
>steam doesn't refund them until an hour before the sale ends
>miss all the sales
>open a ticket
>three days pass
>"If a sale price is no longer available, you will need to wait until the next time that product is on sale."
>can i take the money from my steam wallet and put it on my credit card
>no
>is there anything else i could have done instead of refunding
>no

To buy the same games it's like 400+ dollars.

Now I just feel like trash for getting my bros hopes up

I even noted in the refund comments that I wanted to rebuy the game as a gift but it still doesn't matter.
>>
Whats it like being retarded?
>>
Pay more attention next time. You had to click some big fucking buttons that say it's for yourself or for a gift.
>>
>>344030401
>support DRM
>get fucked

How appropriate.

You know you could've just bought the fucking games again while you were waiting for the refund
>>
>>344030401
You could have made them family shared you dummy
>>
Life must be hard when you're retarded. Good luck out there.
>>
Steam is shit more news at 11.

Problem with Steam:

Their customer service s the worst i have ever experienced.

I had problems with Nintendo that were solved faster.
Even EA responded faster and better sthan Steam support
>>
>>344030896
this
also if you wasn't a so fucking retarded that you even apply games to your account when you mean to gift it to your brother , you would have your account shared with your brother and not think about buying the same games twice
>>
You only get refunds to your wallet if you bought it with wallet funds.

Why would you ever use steam wallet unless you're a child whose only way to pay is steam gift cards?
>>
>>344030401
your fault and expecting to receive sale prices after the sale ends is unreasonable

sometimes shit is just your fault. you don't always get everything the way you want it, deal with it
>>
>>344030401
>have a fucking whole week to buy games
>buy them at the last second
>>
> Steamdrones will defend this

OP might be retarded, but steam is still shit.

There's literally nothing to defend though. There were two big, bright green buttons to read and click, and he clicked the "For me" button like a retard.

>>344030401
>>344032595

Op is a retard and anyone defending him should kill themselves.

You're already lucky they let you refund, when you send a product to the wrong person your idiocy should be punished.
In the real world there is no refund for this kind on things, let this be a lesson.

Sorry valvedrones, but that isn't a real refund.
>>

>Worthless steam bucks

Clearly the OP buys things on Steam, so it's actually not a big deal
>>
>>344033621
>In the real world there is no refund for this kind on things, let this be a lesson.
What? If I sent something to my house instead of my brothers I could just literally send it to him. Hell you can refund pretty much fucking anything even food items, you can refund shit because you didn't want it or bought too many of it. Digital items are the only thing that refunds aren't done proper.
>>
>>344034638

To add to what I said before, he could have gotten a refund to his credit card if he bought games with it, which if the only option for him was Steambux he clearly didn't
>>
>>344031089
Steam really does have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's funny how people rip and tear on EA but they have such better policies regarding their games it's unreal. And event though it's almost impossible to get refunds with Blizzard at least their customer support is literally top notch
>>
>>344030401

your own fault for supporting digital

Get the games from a keysite, sometimes they have even better prices than steam sales.
Not the best solution but you don't want to let your Brother down... right?

Kind of like "indie casual meme games" huh?
Don't fucking reply to me again
>>
>>344035807
there's no unified platform and profile on PC, just a bunch of shitty DRM services that all sell just a segment of games. All with varying amounts of features. You have to have like 3 or 4 different accounts juggling around just to play new releases, on top of all the secondary and tertiary DRM levels that a lot of Steam games have.

Sure there's games on it now and it's easier than before, but it lacks direction. Everyone just wants their own slice of the pie

>>Thinking it's DRM fault

It wouldn't have been a mistake if there wasn't DRM. If I buy a GOG game or non-DRM Humble Bundle one or whatever on sale, it's impossible to "make a mistake," I can just give it to whoever I want. I don't need to ask any permission or contact support or any shit like that, there's no online DRM so no 3rd party is involved. Even with old style DRM where it was just a serial number, I can just fucking give the serial number to whomever. Problem solved.

This whole situation is 100% down to online DRM. Sure it's possible to navigate the waters, but there was a time when it wasn't even necessary to think about it. Humans were allowed to make mistakes and it didn't matter. What has the online DRM brought us in positives to make up for negatives?

The whole fucking point of PC is to be a more open platform than consoles. It genuinely sounds like you want a single entity to run all of PC gaming, and you're a terrible person for thinking that

That's priceless you're fucking retarded you know that? How the hell would they hurt your games? All your saves are safe and sound and you can have your brother play the games you never play. Which considering the amount of games people useing steam tend to accumulate and NEVER play this is a good thing.
>>
>>344038767
>I can just fucking give the serial number to whomever. Problem solved.
Do you think OP is smart enough to do that?

He can't even tell two fuck huge buttons apart.
>>
>>344038767
You can just share the game if you're never going to play it. The most you have to do for that is check your email.
>>
>>344038816
you're the one that thinks that it's OK for games to be exclusive to certain DRM platforms and that it's OK for Steam games to be sold with multiple DRM layers, or that it's OK for a single player game to require an internet connection and online account.

no, fuck you

when you buy an MP3 off iTunes, that MP3 will work on any device and you can copy it an unlimited amount of times. You don't need internet to listen to the MP3, you don't need to log into iTunes every time you want to listen to it either. Songs aren't exclusive to iTunes either, you can buy from bandcamp, CD, or other services and you still don't need an account or internet connection to listen to it.

and nice comparison to consoles, but at least multiplats are released on both PS4 and XB1 there, giving you choice(also the fact that the games aren't tied to an account and don't require internet to play) You're the one supporting DRM exclusives on PC.

No you dumb faggot, it's obvious that on the PC he wants NO ENTITY to "run it", nobody at all. There should be multiple storefronts and "distribution platforms" but that should be like GOG's approach: yes, they offer their own system to handle updates and sales. But the actual product, the bits and bytes, that isn't tied to them at all, they're just a medium. If they were hit by a meteor tomorrow nothing on your system would be affected in terms of how you could access it, not now and not ever. If you pulled out an old copy 20 years from now and felt nostalgic to play it, you just could without even thinking about it.

Steam and the like that tie you in are bullshit, even more so on the PC. Stop apologizing for them.

If you don't play games ever, fucking faggot.

I use a hybrid of steam funbux and my wallet for purchases, and if I want a refund they will refund the money to my wallet and steam funbux as they were.
