This. Current MS look like saints compared to last gen when they were beating the ps3. It's not a coincidence
2016: Cross buy and cross play for all MS published games. You can get an xbone, 5 games and a controller for $350
2010: You have to pay for gold to use netflix and the web browser. Pizza hut apps and kinect instead of good exclusives

I really don't care. My PS3 still works perfectly fine. Only reason backwards compatibility on Xbone is a good thing is for people like me who have RROD 360s. What would make me very happy is if we got PS2 compatibility

At the moment I don't care because I still have and use my PS3 alongside my PS4. Far as I know the Xbone's BC doesn't upres games or make them run any better than they did on 7th gen hardware so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I doubt it will ever come to PS4 though, at least not in the way Microsoft is doing it where it doesn't cost you money to play your old games.

Sony are cashing in on releasing old games on ps now subscription and by re-releasing ps2 games with trophies.
Since people by these why would they make backwards compatibility happen without making some cash from it?
If anything if people really pressure to they would but they would probably have it on a unique ps4 model
people dont understand how stupid microsoft is doing this, they are not only shoving money into something for no returns, just losing more money, but just letting you play stuff people have already played with nothing extra
compare this to sony who are smartly making money whilst making sure people can play upgraded old games for a small price, giving people the best of both worlds

$15 is hardly a small price for 10 year old games. You can argue the trophies and upscaling justifies it but I still think $7-$10 would be the sweet spot where people would be more likely to buy and you'd still make a profit.
Why do people still shit out threads about this, ND even said making TLOU:R run on ps4 was headache since the architecture of the ps3 spu's and cell is ass to work with and convert to x86 it won't happen.

Screen tearing is completely absent on BC titles and most of them have reduced loading times and more stable framerate. You are also able to take screenshots and clips with the DVR app which is a really nice extra.

Should have never gotten rid of it. It helps in the early days of the system to have a a couple generations of games to drawn from instead of the 5 - 15 at launch. Oh persona 6 is coming out, ok ill buy/download the old ones on my ps5.
