Every time it would fuck up, every time it would not save or save the wrong fucking timeframe, it constantly fails due to a single alt+tab in any game, even when I tried to have desktop capture and all my games borderless it still failed.

It's not a myth, it's called downsampling, basically it eliminates aliasing at a huge performance cost. Great for playing older 3d games, especially ones with shit AA options. Also the control panel has some other benefits, like the option to turn of the shader cache/multithreading if a game's broken. (Believe me, I've had to do this before) You can als configure SLI or dedicate PhysX/AA to a 2nd card. Another neat thing is overclocking your monitor, but it only really works if you have DisplayPort or dual-link DVI.

Second, some drivers for pascal will not perform as well on maxwell in time since the controller in completely different, just like it happened to kepler. Some release will shine, some other won't, it like that.

I do 4K footage when I can and compress it down to 1080p. Ive started to hit a wall though with the new games since my 980 can't do 4k by itself in the newer stuff at least. Sometimes I do small sfx stuff for videos.
I typically have like 15 tabs perm open in firefox and use chrome on my other monitor and have like 5-10 tabs open in that which is usually charts, maps, graphs etc for various games so I can toggle through them.
If I dont have that stuff open, Im running netflix or something on that monitor while I play video games and listen to music. I also typically have discord, mumble, and teamspeak open. I usually leave photoshop open so I can edit if I need too. Maybe encode videos at the same time or have the editor open doing stuff. I might have a call in skype going too.
I usually have all of this stuff going simultaneously, so ram I guess.

The Nvidia Control Panel and everything else is part of the driver package.
That said, it uses practically zero resources and other than being allergic to logging into things there's really no reason NOT to run it either.

This is what poorfags believe. But seriously, I dont really care if I have an AMD or Nvidia in my rig as long as the perfomance is good. But to expect a card that cheap to work like a ~500$ card is just silly. Of course there WILL be something that makes the low price justified. Its like buying some super overclocked 4GHZ cpu for 80$ and expecting i7 perfomance because the numbers are high. It doesnt work like that though.

Oh yeah my bad, you're right.
it's the internet connection that's required since version 2.0, blocking it with a firewall causes it to crash on launch, which is what happened on my case.
