Graphics mods can't save Morrowind from looking dated as shit. Especially in motion. Like you CAN get it to look pretty good for as old as it is. Then you see that all those high detailed npcs walk like they've shit their pants.
Without any famboy bullshit, how long does the game take to start picking up? I've started the game maybe a dozen times with various characters, and I always burn out 3-4 hours in. I understand how the combat works so it isn't like I'm missing anything, it's just draining how slow movement is and how conversations are keyword paragraphs but without the engagement that Wizardry 8 does. Are there better games I should play instead or should I give it another go?

I never got into the TES series til 2 years ago. After Skyrim I played the series in backwards order, found Oblivion to be better followed by Daggerfall. Morrowind is just too spread out in what it set out to accomplish to be enjoyable for me.

A dedicated spellcasting button was much better and enabled better spellsword/battlemage gameplay, and not being able to block while dual wielding two weapons (without a mod anyway) made no sense.
