I've always seen at least three or four people questing in the same area as me and you're pretty much forced to join a guild, which makes them fairly active.
Dungeon finder is fucked, so everyone makes groups themselves, which makes making friends easier than it is in WoW these days.
Dunno about raids or their quality, I haven't reached end-game yet.
Don't expect anything stellar, but it scratches the MMO itch fairly well.

You seem to confuse the problems here. You say there are not 50 key bindings anymore therefore classes lack personality. It's simply shit design from blizzard's part.
Look at dota and how most heroes with just 4 buttons dynamically interacting with each other and requiring you to use them in a situational order/combo makes them more interesting than a 50 button rotation ever will, because when the rotation is static, you can have 10, 50, or a million buttons, the depth is the same. You just need to memorize a single pattern.

I've been an adult with a real job since cata and I dont understand how adults can do raids weekly. You have to have no friends and work like 6 hours a day. So glad none of that shit stayed with me out of high school. I put 5k hours before I left high school, I think I've put about 50 hours into each expansion just form leveling and doing the raid twice

Obviously you didn't play Beta if you're equating Order Hall stuff to Garrison table or linear levelling. Literally one of the first things they said was that you could decide where you were levelling when you wanted to. You could literally stop questing in on zone, go to another, then come back later and keep questing.
Artifact Power doesn't use the Garrison table, and takes all of 5 minutes to allocate if you're wasting time and micro-managing.
Missions are literally 'Hey, come start this now and it'll be done in a bit while you're levelling', and the Order Campaign gets you a bit of story and Order stuff.
Even then the issue with Garrisons was that there was 0 reason to leave them. You could do all of your gathering, forging, enchanting, gold making, all from there, with no connection to the outside. Order halls have four things; Mission Board, Artifact Forfe, NPCs four quests, and a Portal to Dalaran. The Paladin Hall is even accessible on the PTR right now.
What the fuck are they thinking with these talent revamps? Before you had to choose from one of 3 abilities of a type, like one talent tier would be AOE, one would be escapes, 1 would be self-heal, etc... now you've got AOE's and shields and other random not-related nonsense sharing talent tiers.

Fel Magic fucks demons up a lot when it's used on them en masse, but at the same time can fuck up whoever's using it, so they become part demon to better control the Fel while still being part of their original selves to balance out the weakness to Fel.
Metamorphosis is kind of the 'Break Glass in case of emergency' button, since it lets them get full use of the Fel, but not without leaving them vulnerable to being hit by it.

Here's the big deal with Illidan:
During the War of the Ancients he was a mage, pretty average, but originally a failed Druid. When Cenarius told him that only Malfurion could teach him Druidism it pissed him off to no end so he went with Arcane magic of Druidism.
During the defense of Black Rook Hold he realized that the Demons had magic the pretty much stomped on his, and he was forced to sacrifice his Moon Guard (Other mages) to buff himself up and fight back the demons. Naturally this pissed a lot of people off, especially when he showed no remorse for it and told others they were stupid.
Now, fast forward a bit and Sargeras has taken and interest in this kid who effectively broke the siege of Black Rook Hold, a turning point in the war, pretty much by himself. Sargeras shows Illidan the power of the Legion, and Illidan 'broke' under the revelation, making a deal with Sargeras then immediately turning his back on him. His new powers let him decimate demons but he was still a bit of an outcast for Black Rook.
Then we get to the Well of Eternity, the War of the Ancients comes to an end, and the word starts to shatter. Illidan grabs a vial of the stuff in the Well with the intent to make another one.
When he tries to make another one, the Night Elves have the natural response of 'No dude what the fuck' since that's what got Sargeras' attention in the first place, and what he almost used to come to Azeroth. They also had stopped using Arcane magic in favor of Druidism, since it didn't screw up as many things as other magics.
Hence he got locked up forever until Tyrande came along hoping he could fuck up some more demons. Arthas capitalized on his hunger for power, pointed him to the skull of Gul'dan, and that just made Illidan more demonic, and made Tyrande think of him as a failure and send him away.
With nowhere else to go Illidan was contacted by the Legion again, told that he could redeem himself in their eyes by killing the Lich King.

As I recall they originally had a large number of flavor things planned, sort of along the lines of how Undead players were vulnerable to Holy magic and stuff, but past a certain point the balancing was way beyond what they could do at the time.
Hell, one of the primary reason we're getting Demon Hunters is because Personal Loot makes it possible to have four classes use Leather Armor now. Monks were kind of like a Demon Hunter Alpha when it came to class-loot balance.
